After iOS 8 update: "This accessory is not supported by this iPad" using Digital AV Adapter on iPad 2

I also am having same problem have iPhone 4s and was using non apple AV lead , was working perfectly before latest update to iOS 8, Have been looking around and have seen a few people had the same problem when iOS 7 update first came out so I'm waiting for next update before I go and buy a genuine Apple lead (which isn't cheap)

I have a genuine Apple AV adapter and it doesn't work either since updating to IOS 8. This accessory is not supported message as soon as you plug it in. It's visible in settings as a genuine Apple AV but still doesn't work.

The adapter still works fine on my ipod 4th Gen with ios6

I have the same issue: ipad 2 non-apple connection kit that worked fine until ios 8.0.2 was installed.

I got exactly the same with this issue too

Yet another update from Apple and AV cable still not working, done with iPhone now Samsung Alpha here I come 🙂

After upgrading to ios 8.1 the problem was fixed on my iPad2. You get an error message, "This accessory is not supported by this iPad", click okay and then just use the accessory. I am using a third party camera connection kit.

Can apple fix this ASAP??? I shouldn't have upgraded to ios 8.1 which took me 5 hours if i knew this was gonna happen! 😠

I am also having the same problem on my iPad 2 that I upgraded to IOS 8.1 why are they not addressing it, APPLE WHATS YOUR PROBLEM DO YOU WANT MORE MONEY FROM US I wish I had known few weeks ago when I bought a iPhone 6 plus

After update 8.1.1 Today it still the same problem? what wrong ? because they said This release include bug fixes, increased stability and performance improvements for iPad2 and iPhone4s.

Try this:

Turn iphone to airplane mode

Turn off Iphone,

Connect iphone to pc,

turn on Iphone

Turn off Airplane mode.

Still not working. My adapter shows as an apple A1422. I can successfully plug it in to an iPad 2 with an older IOS but mine which is on 8.1.2, gives the error "This accessory is not supported by this iPad." I tried turning off the iPad and connecting it to the tv before turning it on. When it is turned on, it displays on the tv for a moment, then the message pops up and no picture is on the tv any longer. Clicking ok does not change the lack of a picture On the tv, but I can use the iPad as normal.

I've tried the adapter on a different iPad 2 that is not on IOS 8 and no message appears.

Help, please!

I Have the same problem. The accesory work fine with IOS 7, but after IOS 8 update the error appear. (IPAD New IPad IOS 8.1.2)
