i had many icons save to my homepage for websites as wel as webapps. When I upgraded to ios 8, I lost all the icons. I get them back if I redo the webpage save. However, would prefer not to do this for all my sites. Any help? Thanks

I had the same problem on my iPad with OS 8.4.
Luckily, the trick of changing the language, as described above, worked right away.
I used German, though I don't think it matters what you select.
