Problems with Airplay in iOS 8?

I, too, am having problems connecting to airplay on my yamaha receiver from my iOS 8 upgraded iPhone 5S. The airplay icon was showing up spottily for a few days and dropping the signal randomly, but now I don't see airplay icon at all. I tried manually entering the IP on the yamaha app to no avail. My macbook pro connects to the airplay just fine though so it must be the iOS 8 update.

Just chiming in with a me-too. Upgraded to iOS8. AirPlay is no longer an option in Control Center. Had been using it with Airport Express.

Kinda getting tired of this kinda treatment Apple, not going to keep sticking with you if you do this too many times.

I'm having the same issue even after installing iOS 8.0.1 update.

I upgraded to IOS 8 on IPad Air. I use my iPad to display pictures and documents in court. I have a trial starting next Tuesday and I am unable to use Airplay with the TV. I have the Airplay icon. I can switch on to Apple TV but nothing happens. Apple you have to fix this immediately!

We are having AirPlay problem with Pioneer on iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s after installing iOS 8 update.

It's not only problem with third-party receivers, also AppleTV AirPlay button sometimes appear and disappear.

Yes, same problem. I have Extrememac tango air speaker now gone awol from iphone 5s. Hope we get an answer and/or fix soon.

By any chance will this be addressed in 8.01 (now 8.02)?

iiPhone 5S and Denon AVR-X3000: the receiver shows up in the AirPlay list of devices. When I try to connect is gets to show the name of the song on the receiver's display, but after a few seconds it turns to "connecting" and the iPhone drops the connection and resume playing on the phone.

Same problem here. I cannot stream from my iOS devices, but I can stream from my Mac laptops.

Same here. Airplay doesn't stream to my Pioneer receiver in iOS 8. It streams for a minute then cuts off completely. But it still works properly in my MacBook Pro.

I also upgraded to iOS 8.0.2 thinking it was addressed. Same problem.

Hoping Apple is able to fix this sooner than later.

I have the same problem with a Yamaha receiver. And no, 8.0.2 does not fix it. Note that my iPhone 5s with iOS 8+ still sees my Apple TV and my Airport Express. Since Apple TV and Airport Express did not receive updated firmware in conjunction with the iOS 8 release, one can perhaps assume that the problem lies with third-party manufacturers who didn't follow Apple's guidelines with precision, i.e. it may not be Apple's fault. It'll be interesting to see who ultimately issues the fix.

My issue is wirh the inphone 6 (plus) specifically.

I have upgraded to iOS 8 on all my devices and the only one that does not see my Denon through airplay is the iPhone Plus. My iPad air and iPad mini both running iOS 8 see the Denon just fine.

I have had several issues with the iPhone 6 and each time, the Apple rep just tells me to do a hard reset. That seems to address the specific problem I am having at that time, but has not worked for this one.
