iOS 8 voice dialing, "Just to confirm..."

Anyone have a answer to this question?

I'm really disappointed there's no answer. It's horrible, so I'm surprised more people aren't annoyed.

I ran into the same problem after upgrading to iOS 8 and it's REALLY annoying.

However, today I stumbled upon something that seems to have fixed the problem on the contacts that I've tried it on so far.

Here's what I did:

1) I changed the last digit of the contact's phone number (by adding 1) and then I saved the contact record

2) I changed the last digit of the contact's phone number back to what it needs to be (by subtracting 1) and then I saved the contact record again

After I did this, I used Siri to call the contact and she called without the "Just to confirm..." prompt. I had one or two contacts that this didn't work on right away so I had to repeat the process, but it eventually worked the second time around.

Again, I just stumbled upon this today so I'm not positive it's a permanent fix but it looks promising so far.

I have about 2000 contacts with multiple phone numbers. Guess I'll start editing every one of them .... 😉

The phone number change tip did not work for me.

But I figured out that I had another problem.

I had two contacts with the same phone number; one for the name of my wife and the other one just called 'Wife'.

The solution was; I deleted the contact that had the name of my wife. (Siri could never understand my saying my wife's name.)

Now I'm able to ask Siri to call 'Wife" and Siri just does it.

On my phone, Siri usually asks for confirmation, but not always, even on same contact name. So happy to hear of this fix ~~~ NOT! Doesn't work for me. Maybe I missed the part where I have to stand on one foot while touching my nose? Way to go Apple, you DID take a giant leap backwards.

This "feature" is so f'ing annoying that I no longer use Siri. Things like this really make me wonder what the **** is happening to Apple.

This worked for me -- temporarily and the next day -- same issue with the contact that I did the above fix on the previous day... Not sure why or the difference. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm on another thread too. The number change thing is a one day, returns the next day fix. Yep, Apple is losing the appeal of "always works" lately. I see the siri attack ads from android and I honestly do wonder at times..

Called Apple, and this in fact is NOT A BUG - but an enhanced Siri "feature" in iOS 8.X. The wierd part about it is... it does not happen on all my contacts!! Only certain ones.

Which seems like one way its a bug?
