How to get rid of Yahoo which has replaced itself as the search engine on safari . I have tried going to safari and changing the default search engine to google and the homepage to no avail can anyone PLEASE help

Click on Safari

Click preferences

Click 'Search'

Once in the search box you can scroll to whichever browser you want.

I just had this problem and after reading through these replies I checked my extensions and I didn't have any unwanted ones, I also tried changing my default web browser to google but it didn't work, no malware was detected so I decided to play around and realised I could just go on to Safari > Preferences > General and then just change the link by the homepage, it had changed the link to yahoo so I just changed it back to google or whatever 🙂
