Can't access iCloud after downloading iOS8.0. After downloading iOS8.0 I cannot join iCloud. Message I receive is "Verification Failed. There was an error connecting to iCloud." When I go to My Apple ID on my computer, I can access my iCloud account. Now my iPad won't access the internet.

Your reply caught my eye. I have exactly the opposite of your problem. When I turn on the VPN, everything works, iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, find my phone and find my friends. However when I turn it off, I can not get a single thing to work, all of them mentioned above. This frustrates me. I mean I can't even use iMessage when I turn off VPN. How stupid is that??? This is not supposed to happen. Oh and I forgot to say, none of the methods workend for me. Someone please help, I think the problem might be on the VPN.
I would've swore you were just phishing but out of curiosity, I tried setting my time zone to auto and it fixed it!!

Well it's 5/14/15 and I too still get this error. So much for the fix in a few days! If my boss didn't buy this 6+ I would have bought a Windows based phone!!

while doing this trick, I had received this message "this will delete all network settings, returning them to factory defaults." I wonder if my apple ID will delete too? and if after resetting these setting i could use my own apple ID?
I have follow what you have said, I did a reset network setting. but It still show me " continuously updating in Settings"
how to do? do I need to wait 2hrs?
Had the same problem. Reset Network Settings, then signed back in to iCloud. Note that preferences aren't remembered, so I had to turn off everything I didn't want again (backup, mail, photo stream, etc.). iMessage appears to be working much better than it has for some time.

HI - unfortunately I can't seem to apply any of the workarounds as my Wifi won't work. It keeps searching for a network and the App Store says it cannot connect, although 3G connections are active and work on all other apps.
Any help would be appreciated as this is driving me insane now.
Similar issue here. I am not able to connect to the icloud account through the iphone because of some reason. Tried the network settings and it didn't help much. I am actually trying to disable find my iphone in order to do a complete restore for the iphone and icloud won't let me do that either.
