Can't access iCloud after downloading iOS8.0. After downloading iOS8.0 I cannot join iCloud. Message I receive is "Verification Failed. There was an error connecting to iCloud." When I go to My Apple ID on my computer, I can access my iCloud account. Now my iPad won't access the internet.

I had the same problem however I...

1) Downloaded the 'Find My iPhone" app in the app store

2) Then, I opened the 'Find My iPhone" app and signed into my iCloud

3) Finally, I went back to iCloud in the Settings app

The "Verification Failed. There was an error connecting to iCloud." notification did not pop up after that. And voila, success! I was finally able to sign out of iCloud.

http://alliosnews.com/2013/09/20513/It is being widely reported that some users are experiencing errors with iCloud after upgrading to iOS 7. The issue has to do with the iCloud Terms & Conditions which were changed with the new version of iOS. After upgrading, users are prompted to accept the new iCloud Terms & Conditions but when they attempt to do so they get a “Unable to connect to serverUser uploaded file” error. This then disables iCloud on their device.

iCloud site from an iPhone

If you have experienced this error here is how to get around the error.

  • On your iPhone or iPad go to http://www.icloud.com. There you will see the options to setup iCloud on your device, Install Find My iPhone and Install Find My Friends.
  • Tap the Install Find My Friends – even if you already have it installed. This will then take you to the AppUser uploaded file Store where you can either install Find My Friends or open it if you already have it installed.
  • You will be prompted for your iCloud password. Enter it then you will see a dialog box saying that the iCloud Terms & Conditions have changed and you need to accept them. Tap on View to view the iCloud Terms & Conditions then tap Agree at the bottom of the page.

This should solve the problem for you and iCloud will immediately begin working on all of your devices once again.

Ultimately what is causing the problem is unclear as the serversUser uploaded file are obviously available as you can get to the T&Cs through this backdoor.

THANK YOU! This saved my bacon when downgrading from iOS 9 beta 2.

This might sound silly - I had the same issue and tried everything on the internet. I was at the point of trying to restore my factory settings but then I realised I did not activate my settings. Under cellular you can select which apps can access your cellular data and which cannot. My settings was not activated under Cellular and once I activated it my ICloud settings/terms and conditions automatically enabled me to accept.

If this is not the problem, sorry but so happy I got it fixed
