After turning on icloud drive on my iPad, all my Keynote, Pages and Numbers docs have disappeared on my iPad. They appear on icloud.com, but they are not syncing. Anyone know how I can get the docs back?

Nope. I am having the same problem with my Air and iPhone. On another thread, someone suggested turning off Drive and on again but that didn't work. After I updated to 8.1 about 12 of my Pages docs appeared in grey on my iPhone, but I have several hundred and most of these are in folders. I am hoping they fix this soon -but I might try the genius bar also. Even if they can't make it work, perhaps they will report the problem

Indeed - but it is only working on my Air - I was online with Apple today and thought it was fixed, but nope - only six files of several hundred are downloading and they are all files created since i upgraded to Yosemite and 8.1... so I will make sure I have everything saved on a memory stick and look again at Box and dropbox until Apple fixes this or doesn't!
