TV Show Art / Thumbnails Missing On IOS 8

Lots of work just to get the artwork and exactly why I posted the shareware I found that does it all for you. Guess some people are glutton for punishment on themselves.

Are you 100% sure the shareware you linked fixes the episode thumbnails for TV shows?

Worked for me for a ton of movies. The few tv shows I had already had the artwork.

On individual episodes?

Sadly/annoyingly 342 x 510 (w x h) hasn't worked for me, Itunes 12.1.1.4 IOS 8.1.3 iPad 3, after much tinkering and trying many suggestions, at last I can see artwork for my home movies using the following size, first create a new image 999w 704h, resize your artwork to 469w 704h and paste into your newly created image (999w 704h) BINGO!!! works perfectly now.

Once again, why go through all of this extra and tedious work. Just use the shareware program I listed above and be done with it. Let automation do the job for you. Seems simole to me.

That shareware will not fix the episode artwork problem

IIt worked for me. Just sayin. not sure why it didn't work for,you. I am using an imac.

You're absolutely, 100% certain that you have artwork for each TV show EPISODE under iOS 8?

I Manunkynhave movies and it worked for 100% of them. Had a very few TV series that onky had a couple episodes that were missing artowrk and it worked for thsoe few as well. Can't guarantee for lots of episodes. Mmay tonight is it is worth a try. it can't mess things up but could save you hours of time.

Been following this for long time, I'm also having the same issue.

I want to add that since the latest update if the TVShow is originally purchased from iTunes the episode thumbnails works well, but if its imported it does not. At least thats my experience. Take a look at the screen grabs, Jimmy Neutron was purchased, Arrow is imported, the artwork was added manually in iTunes but the thumbnails remain empty. My guess is that Apple might have change something in the way iTunes read that screen pic. Its a shame, It worked great before this update, thing is I'm not sure if its iOS8 or iTunes, or both

Movies have no issues that I know of, Originals and imported shows the artwork without any problem, obviously the imported ones need to be done manually.

Thank you. Tedious work around but at least now my daughter can pick her own shows to watch.

If you happen to rip your own music videos in and would like artwork to show up properly on your iPhone and iPad, follow these steps.

1) Open the video in QuickTime.

2) Find a frame of the video that you like.

3) Do a screen capture (command/shift/4) lassoing the image.

4) Open the screen shot in a photo editor like Adobe Photoshop.

5) Using the fixed ratio of 640x360, crop the image.

6) Change the image size to 640x360 pixels.

7) Flatten the image.

8) Save the image as a jpg.

9) In iTunes, get info on the video and select "Add Artwork".

10) Add your new image and click on it to highlight the edges in blue.

11) Click OK.

12) Sync your iPhone or iPad once you have done all of this, and the artwork should appear correctly when you view on your device - instead of the generic icon.

- You may need to re-sync a few times for them to stick. Also make sure that the image is selected (blue outline) before you click OK when adding the artwork.

Why Apple has not yet fixed this problem is puzzling, as it really makes iOS8 look unfinished.
