TV Show Art / Thumbnails Missing On IOS 8

I have the same issue, and I sent a feedback to Apple.

The problem is the same with Home movies and there is not law, square picture, nothing.

But it is more rare,... if you erase all covers or arts in a Home Movie, the system put himself a frame of the film, so, I think the problem is with sync and iOS.

I'm angry because my daughter loves her cartoons in iPad and she doesn't know to read, she is 3 year old and cry because she thinks I take off the cartoons of her iPad.

I can confirm this is NOT fixed in iOS 8.1 Beta 1

Hi, i'm running iTunes 11.4 and having the exact same issue with my iPhone 6 running 8.0.2.

How has something this obvious fallen through the gaps Apple?!

Definitely an ios 8 issue. I have not upgraded my iPad yet to ios 8. My iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 both got upgraded. Same video does not show artwork for ios 8 devices but does for ios 7 device. Not upgrading iPad until I see this being addressed. Tried putting new artwork in, tried recreating video. Only about 20% do show up. I hope they address and are not just happy that the purchased movies show artwork.

I noticed this immediately after updating to iOS 8.0. All the artwork for my Home Videos disappeared from my iPad. Also, when playing songs from a Playlist or iTunes Radio, the album artwork does not show on the iPhone or iPad. The problem has not been fixed since 8.02 release.

I tried deleting all the videos from the iPad and reinstalling, but no artwork. This looks like a major mis-step in the new iOS software. C'mon Apple, let's get it fixed.

Don't know what's happening, either, but I recalled that when Apple placed "Home Videos" and "Movies" into separate categories (iOS 5?), we lost the Chapter Markers in our home videos because Apple decided only "real" movies have Chapter Markers.

It appears that the "solution" for getting the artwork back is the same (at least between "Home Videos" and "Movies") as it was for retrieving chapter markers.

In iTunes:

1. Right-click the artwork

2. Click "Get Info"

3. Change the Media Kind from "Home Video" to "Movie".

4. The Video disappears from "Home Video" and reappears in "Movie"

5. The artwork/thumbnail appears on the iDevice under "Movie".

Worked for me, anyway. I like having my Videos and Movies under separate tabs, but it ticks me off that I can't have the artwork under "Home Video"

its funny but thats the only reason I'm frustrated about this!

I spent an age putting relevant artwork on all the kids stuff and it made his day to be able to see clearly which movie is which.

Yet again i wished I'd never upgrade the lil fellas iPad to latest and greatest iOS 😠

actually I might downgrade his, just to make it work again.

iOS 8.0.2, this problem cropped up only on this release for me.

I have found these issues;

1- Movie Artwork must be rectangular in Portrait orientation like a DVD cover, around 800x600 not much bigger size or they won't show as well.

2- Home Video Artwork must be rectangular in Landscape orientation, around 600 x 800 or less.

3- TV may need to be square (haven't tested but the blank Icons look square, I believe 500x500 or smaller.

When I reformatted some artwork this way, they all displayed correctly. In the previous iOS versions you didn't have to think about this, it accepted all formats and was more tolerant of larger artwork files, thanks Apple.

Lastly, my home made movies with artwork display and play fine, they show movie length but NOT file size, just a zero. If I change options to Home Video, all file data shows in those tabs (but then the artwork doesn't show due to the new formatting limitations).

I won't even get into Bluetooth, and why I had to "reset all settings" to restore my Plantronics Edge headset functionality after the update, on my 6+

I tried resizing an episode cover to 499px x 499px, didn't help.

I'm on iOS 8.1 Beta 2, iPhone 6 Plus

Regarding the Plantronics Edge BT Headset, It worked fine with iOS 8.0.2 on my 5s, but when I got my 6 Plus (and updated it to 8.0.2 as I migrated my data from the 5s), I found that the headset did this;

1 - It doesn't ring

2- No Caller Id is announced

3- I can't answer the call by voice or touching the headset button

4- I can't end the call with the headset button.

I tried rebooting the phone, forgetting the headset and re-binding, no help.

I then tried the "reset all settings" on the 6+, This saves all data but you do have to re-enter finger prints, wall papers, ringtones, text sizes, battery %, and many little settings here and there..

This for sure restored the Edge functionality completely. I just hope it lasts as this is a bit of a hassle to do on any regular basis!

Having the exact same problems with TV Show Artwork not appearing on iOS8 devices... If I change all the TV Shows to "Movies", art appears. If I leave it as "TV Shows"... Art disappears. Running iTunes 11.4 (18). My library has been impeccably tagged, because I'm a meta data FREAK. Converting my TV Shows to "Movies" is a very frustrating solution!

Mine is seemingly random on which ones work and won't work. I have some TV shows that are ripped that display fine, others that I have ripped do not. I have some purchased from iTunes that display fine, and others that I purchased that will not display. Running iPad mini, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPad mini with Retina Display on 8.0.2, all have same problems

My "reset all settings" only fixed the Bluetooth issues for two or so days, once again I can no longer answer or end calls, the caller ID announce and voice control for answering also are dead. I contacted Apple support and tested 3 headsets, Plantronics Edge, Voyager, BlueBuds X, and Jawbone Mini, ALL of these units can NOT Answer or End calls, this is an 8.0.2 Apple problem! Support told gave me a link to feedback, I told them that this was serious as the 6 Plus is a flipping PLANK that I never intended to hold up to my head, and for them to report this up the chain for me.
