ios 8 ipad stuck in grayscale

R3trop - Happened to me on the iPhone and stumbled on your post. I had also clicked on invert colors in Triple Click, so the Triple click only switched between inverted colors and grayscale.

Went back to Settings > General > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut. Try to uncheck the options or also check two options on Triple Click give a small pop up with the checked options - uncheck grayscale in the pop-up. This worked for me.

Accessibility shortcut is at the bottom of the list on a iPad. You can set which features you want to be able to turn on/off when you triple click the home button. If you are having trouble turning grayscale off check the greyscale setting in Zoom. If you turn it on in Zoom you can't turn ir off with the regular setting.

You're welcome. Did you turn off the greyscale option in zoom ? If not I've found another way to bring up the zoom menu. Triple tap the screen with three finger then tap Chose Filter. Turn greyscale off. Now you can use zoom normally.

Grayscale setting? But I did not make any changes in settings... IPad Air display just went crazy.

When I woke up this morning, the screen on my iPad Air screen was black and white, no colors. All text is black on white background, and all images, icons, web pages are monochrome. No colors at all. Just grayscale.

So, I tried to reset the iPad normally, by powering off, powering on, but nothing changed — still monochrome. No colors. Only grayscale. Next, a hard reset by holding down the home button while holding down the on off Button... Still the same, no colors. Just monochrome/grayscale.

I've checked the accessibility settings and everything else, nothing seems unusual. I've tried changing Settings... Accessibility... Grayscale... Tried that slider both ways, but nothing works. No colors. Grayscale only. Still the same after rebooting.

Thank you so much! That option was not on, so I turned it on and tried toggling Grayscale on and off. That didn't work, so I changed the option from Grayscale to Zoom, toggled and Color is restored to the screens. I checked the normal Zoom panel and it was finally in the Off position.

My IPad was stuck in Grey Scale and everything I tried didn't work, but for some reason, when toggling the zoom option in accessibility it turns the grey scale off, I can no longer use the zoom shortcut (triple tap on screen) anymore though as it enables the grey scale feature every time I turn it on. Sorry you had to reset your device but hopefully if it happens again you can prevent it using this method.

You're welcome. That zoom menu is a very useful feature new in IOS 8. You found it's one flaw, if you turn greyscale on in zoom it can only be turned off in zoom. I especially like the new window zoom and the show controller features.

Wohoo, it worked! I don't remember putting the zoom feature in greyscale but it was toggled on that colour scheme. THANKS AGAIN.

You may need to disable grayscale in your Accessibility settings.

See the screen in grayscale. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Grayscale.

I have this problem with my iPhone 5. Changing Grayscale on and off does nothing, and the Zoom is stuck in the On position and won't stay in the Off position. I am also using Assistive Touch. Is this what you are calling "Accessibility Shortcut? Where is this Triple Click setting you mentioned? I can't find it anywhere. Thanks

OK, well, it's not the same setup on the iPad as the iPhone I'm having trouble with. I have no separate grayscale option under my Zoom menu or any of the submenus. Is Triple Click somewhere else in the iPhone 5 Settings menu? Because I've been unable to find it.
