Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.

Dunno if this is a change, but Apple's Family Sharing page now says "Now you can share an iCloud storage plan with your entire family. Choose a 200GB or 2TB plan to give everyone enough space to store photos, videos, documents, and more. When you share a storage plan, other family members won’t have access to your information unless you want to share it. " So it seems that the storage plan can now be shared with the family.

Doesn't look like you're getting much feedback here.

In the interest of not creating yet another thread for the same topic, I will provide detail on what I'm looking to do. Hopefully you don't mind @eldonp

My wife and I want to do Family Sharing with my 13 year old. I would like to approve all app purchases for the 13 year old, while allowing my wife to make purchasing without requiring approval. This works fine with multiple Apple ID's. Each device belonging to each person logs into iCloud and iTunes and App Store with their respective Apple ID's. The Organizer (me) can do anything he likes. Where the system falls short is others in the "Family" can't access iTunes Match music belonging to the Organizer.

Others on the plan CAN access purchased music in the above configuration but this doesn't do me any good, as a LARGE percentage of my library is RIPPED from CD's years ago. So, I'm logging each person into the iCloud account for that person, and logging them into the iTunes and App Store as the Organizer (me). This removes the ability of requiring approval for purchases. So, when the 13 year old wants to buy something, he has to come to me and have me log into my Apple account.

So, family sharing, in my case, ONLY gives me the ability to assign iCloud storage to each person in the family but that's it. I'm not even really sure if it's worth it.

Hi evansc22

Hmmm. Ok, some modifications could be made to make family sharing really awesome. Can think of some myself, so hope #Apple is listening. For one thing, I would like to migrate my child's Apple ID to the new child account (had to lie about her age to create an Apple ID)

So yeah, each person should be able to share every Apple resource from their own Apple ID. This includes upgraded iCloud storage, as well as iTunes Match as you suggested. We live in hope and expectation...

What the page actually states is that the organizer agrees to pay any other family members ongoing subscriptions. Not that the subscriptions in itself is shared. So if another member enables iTunes Match, the organizer get the bill for that too...

Sad but true. If they were serious about sharing, iTunes match should be included.

agreed! this is really a bummer that you can't share iCloud storage space. Apple needs to either allow this or come up with something between 20GB and 200GB of space. i do apprecaite the drop in price. my wife and i both need more than 20GB each, but we don't both need 200GB. so i am looking at other options (google drive, etc) since there is no 50 or 100GB options for individuals or if they would just allow both of us to share 200GB that would work.

This is EXACTLY how I feel! I am so frustrated about this storage thing. Both my wife and I have to separately pay for 200GB of storage when we could easily be happy with 30-50 GB each. Why in the world isn't there a storage level between 20 and 200? Whose idea was this? If we would be able to share our storage, that would be the second best option. I just don't understand why Apple would be like this to its own customers. Please, Apple, fix this! Be more customer friendly!

IIf you ripped your music from CDs you should have no trouble importing them into your child's iTunes account as well. You just need to do that outside of family sharing. And it's totally worth it for calendar sharing alone. I've had a separate iCloud account for the family cendar for years that everyone has on their phones and I'm thrilled they are finally making that easier!!

PLus, when your kid is a little older and you want his music without paying again, you'll be glad you set it up!!

I've just purchased iCloud Storage and it's showing up on my iDevices as well as on my wife's iPhone. Family Sharing was already configured, so any purchases made after that should be shared with your family members according to Apple's explanation of Family Sharing functionality.

Just confirming that it works so other people can benefit from it. There isn't much information available online that confirms if iCloud Storage sharing works.

We activated family sharing. Is iCloud storage also shared in the family? What about iTunes match - is this storage also shared?
