Iphone 6 and Ford Sync Bluetooth Does Not Work

Brand new iPhone 6 paired with My Ford Sync in a 2014 Escape.

Bad news, the bluetooth phone features simply do not work. You can initiate a call form the Sync and the phone will dial and connect, but 5 seconds into the call the bluetooth disconnects the phone audio and returns you to your radio or whatever source you were listening to.

The call appears to remain active on the iPhone but you can't access it.

Sure hope Apple or Microsoft/Ford step up to fix this soon it is a real show stopper.

Nothing like in the field beta testing.

I was having the same problem. Traded my iPhone 4 for iPhone 6 and had backed up the new phone from iTunes to load all my app, contacts, etc. All was good but I could not sync it to my Lincoln MKX. I read your solution and this worked for me!!

I deleted all phones on the car, so it was saying "Add phone". Then went into iPhone 6, Settings, Bluetooth, then where it says SYNC, tapped the little i in the circle. That took me to a new screen and I tapped "Forget this Device". I tried syncing again with the car and all worked great. I was able to download my Phonebook and place and make calls. Thanks HowardG11 for the hints. 🙂

I tried the Master Reset on my 2013 Fusion and it appeared to work...for all of 3 phone calls. After that, back to not working.

I did a Master Reset of the SYNC system and re-paired the iPhone 6. Oddly, the SYNC system wanted the screen lock passcode in order to pair the 2 devices rather than putting a code on the screen and asking me to input it into the iPhone. But, as noted above, it was a very temporary fix.

I have a 2013 Ford Fusion and found that if I followed the earlier suggestion of deleting the network settings on my Iphone 6 and also deleting the phone from the Bluetooth devices on the SYNC & then re-pairing did the trick. I tried this yesterday and the phone was not dropping calls and I could initiate calls no problem. Today when I got in the car the phone connected on Bluetooth & it was still working. I had heard that if you shut off your phone & restart that this sometimes causes problems.

Hoping that this fixes the problem until Apple comes out with an update...

Folks, I also had the same problem with both my 2012 Mustang AND my 2014 Fusion.

i Noticed in my bluetooth settings, my wife, son, and daughter's iPhones were listed and i couldn't remove them from bluetooth...my daughter lives 20 miles from me and I have never even came within even 1mile from her house with my new iPhone6.

before I knew about "find a friend", we all shared the same iCloud account so we could see each other's location in iCloud/findmyiphone. I figured I'd try leaving that shared iCloud account and PRESTO, all the other iPhones disappeared from my Bluetooth device list. Re-tried pairing in both cars and it worked perfectly.

not sure if this is anyone else's issue, but it might be worth checking. You should probably also remove any existing SYN connections on you iPhone, and also remove you iPhone from your Ford SYNC system, especially if the phone listed in SYNC has the same name as your new iPhone.

If your iPhone currently is working with Sync on iOS 8, DO NOT do the update to iOS 8.02!! It will cease to function correctly and drop calls within a few seconds.

After install connected and tried to make call. Within seconds Sync dropped the call and reverted it to the phone.

Performing the system reboot on Sync did not solve the issue either.
