search Messages iOS8 on iPhone 5s not working right

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. I text a lot for my job and frequently use the search feature to find specific messages. Since I've updated it's not returning the correct results. For instance, if I search (in Messages) for my contact Pablo, it returns zero results. Doesn't work in Spotlight either (and yes I've got Messages selected) If I search on a word within the text that is unique to this contact, "Sunnyside" it doesn't return any results there either. But when I scroll down a few screens, there it is! It turns out, that searching for Messages created prior to Wednesday when I updated to iOS8 returns zero results. Have to manually scroll through screens and screens and screens to find something. NICE.😠

The other really annoying thing is after I've searched in Messages, the keyboard remains taking up half the screen. The only way to get rid of it is to send a text message. Pressing Home doesn't work.

Yes I've restarted my phone several times, doesn't help.

Searching on emails seems to be working fine.

Why my iPhone cannot login to my own Apple ID either I try many ways like reset password also cannot be login? Why will be like this? Please help me solve my problems.

I had the same problem and none of the suggested solutions above worked for me, except for restoring it to the factory settings and then backing up. It's finally fixed...what a headache. I hope the next upgrade will not pose the same problem again...

Seems problem has been fixed in ios 8.1

Fixes a bug that caused read messages to not be marked as read

apple suggested that 8.1 would resolve this issue however issue still presists

I just experienced this issue and changed my iPhone 5S to Hebrew (Once) and then changed back to English UK and the search feature is now working.

Thanks for this although I have to say this is a huge oversight by iPhone iOS developers

thank i changed the language to spanish and back to english and that worked..

seems to search texts now.

Also its possible you need to send text once to that person and from then on you can search.. not sure on this.. but definitely search is working now...

Hi,

I have an iphone 4s with 8.3 and this is happening to me too. Very disrupting to my job, cannot complete our beach houses reservation without text messages. Tried also reseting factory setting, no work. Will now read on how to restore phone, as I am very afraid to lose the data, which is essential to my business. This has taken me 3 days of job. Very angry at this.

I Was having the same problem and found that my region was set to Angola (under Language & Region). Once I changed it to United States it worked perfectly.
