After updating my iPod to ios 8 it will no longer charge unless I turn it off but it still does not receive much of a charge and when I turn it back on it uses power faster than it can charge back........

- Try another cable. The cable for 5G iPod (lightning connector) seems to be more prone to failure than the older cable.

- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
I have the same issue. It's not the cable or the charger. The cable works fine when I connect the ipod touch to my computer and start itunes, if I turn iphoto it still doesn't charges. And the plug works with the other gadgets.
My son has the exact same problem, is there a solution?
It only works with original Apple charger. Although the unbranded charger is still working with older apple products , it is not anymore working with my IOS 8 upgraded ipod touch any more. I love my apple products and I trust them with all our computers but I don't like it when they behave opportunistic like this.
Ours is a genuine apple charger and still no good, we have several and none work. Is there a solution?
Did you upgrade to IOS 8.0.2 released recently. It claims to improve charging issues.
