Why won't my iPod charge after ios 8?

After updating my iPod to ios 8 it will no longer charge unless I turn it off but it still does not receive much of a charge and when I turn it back on it uses power faster than it can charge back........

- Try another cable. The cable for 5G iPod (lightning connector) seems to be more prone to failure than the older cable.

- If a 5G iPod

- Try another charging source

- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
