Can't connect to my WiFI with new iPhone 6 - keeps saying the WiFi password is wrong.
My new iPhone 6 simply will not connect to my WiFi router - it's a Netgear WNDR4500 with the latest firmware. It's always worked great with Apple devices. FWIW I don't think it supports 802.11ac like the new iPhone 6 does (I've been using 802.11n for the past year or two) but that shouldn't be a problem, it also supports a/b/n etc. The iPhone 6 sees the network(s) it just won't connect b/c it says the password is wrong. I've typed it dozens of times it is NOT wrong.
First of all no, the caps lock is not on. I'm not that dumb. My iPad Mini connects to my wifi router just fine, as did the iPhone 5S I just traded in for the iPhone 6 (with the correct wifi network password). I haven't changed any wifi router settings from the time I left home to wait in line 4 hours to get this new iPhone 6... and now I get home and it won't connect to my WiFi. It sees the SSID (i have two, 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz), but it always says the wireless password is wrong. Cannot connect, wrong password. The password is 100% correct. It's the same PW my iPad is using to connect, and that works just fine.
I'm so disappointed. I waited in line - in the rain - so long for this, and now it won't connect to my WiFi! I did try resetting all network settings.... no benefit. Interesting I did manage to get it to connect to my slow, crappy xfinity wifi, which is just horrible. So, the thing DOES connect to Wifi, it's not totally broken.
Anyone else have this problem? FWIW my old iPhone 5S and my current iPad Mini Retina were both updated to iOS 8, so I don't see how that could be the problem, both connected to my wifi under iOS 7 and iOS 8 just fine, no problems.
Thanks for any help. I'm hoping I don't have to return this iPhone 6.
