iPhone 6/iOS 8 Portrait Rotation Lock

One possibility, in case you hadn't thought of it, is that not all screens rotate. The Home screen and Settings for example do not; Calendar & Messages are 2 examples that should rotate if not locked.

Did you select "zoomed" view rather than "standard"? Home screen rotation doesn't seem to like zoomed!

I have the same problem. Portrait orientation lock is OFF and the screen will not rotate on ANYTHING. I have a new iphone 6 so I don't know if it is a glitch in the phone or IOS 8. But from reading the posts sound like its a problem with the new IOS. Apple needs to get a fix out immediately as this will cause a lot of buzz on such an important feature not working. Not to mention, how it is even possible for the new IOS and phone to be released with this being missed.

Same issue here on my iPhone 6. I noticed that a power cycle fixes the issue in my case, but after some time it comes back. It also doesn't always seem to affect all apps, but it is especially annoying with the camera app. im planning to bring mine into the store when I have a chance.

I Had the same issue with rotating images

FIxed mine by reducing the slide show timings to 2 sec -played the slide show and then stop and the issue was fixed. Now both images and other apps rotate

is a bug for sure, needs to be fixed

GO TO IMAGES

START SLIDE SHOW

AFTER FEW SEC CLICK ON THE IMAGE TO STOP THE SLIDE SHOW

GO TO IMAGES AND ROTATE YOUR PHONE

mine is fixed by doing the above

have the same problem here, but for my iPad4 only can't find the rotation lock, but when I explore I found it at the General settings, and at the accessiblity shortcut

I don't have an IPhone 6 but after installing OS 8 on my 4S I had the same locked screen. I found my solution by swiping the phone from bottom up to bring up controls and surprise there was a rotation icon. Try that maybe.....

Same issue. I closed all apps and restarted (not shutdown, restart) and issue resolved, but for how long is unknown.

The issue is 100% software and seems to for whatever reason stem from reachability, turn off reachability in the accessibility settings and it should fix the issue until Apple sends an update. Hope this works for you all.

Did some more testing and what has worked thus far is this: turn on reduce motion in accessibility and do a restart (hold home button and power button until phone restarts). Go back to accessibility and make sure reduce motion is still in the "on" position. Been working for almost a whole day.
