iPhone 6 Plus doesn't switch to landscape mode on the home screen

Just got off of chat with support. The home screen rotation will only work on iPhone 6+, not iPhone 6! Ugh, I'm very disappointed, that was not made clear anywhere that I noticed.:(

I Have a similar problem. But my iphone 6plus switches to landscape or upside down and gets stuck that way if the phone is locked while using landscape or upside down. Only fix I found was to restart it.

As everyone else has mentioned, the 6 plus will only rotate in STANDARD view. It will NOT rotate if you are in zoomed mode.

To fix it, go to settings, display, view, and select Standard. I should reboot in 20 sevonds

Same problem with me. Additionally, if I am using it in landscape mode and then change it to standard, once in a while, keyboard layout doesn't change. Stays stuck in landscape.

TThanks at least im not crazy... Mine is set to standard view not zoom. And gets stuck sideways or upside down. Have u figured out a quick way to return it to normal?

Where did you learn about Home Screen landscape orientation? Was it an Apple document or resource? Did it say anything about the iPhone 6 having this feature? Because when I read though the online user guide, it says nothing about the iPhone 6 having Home Screen Landscape orientation.

Thanks for the solution! This was driving me crazy. I had restored from a previous back-up and thought that that had been the issue. Then did a factory restore but continually chose "Zoomed" display so never figured it out. Once I switched to "Standard", problem solved!

I was having the same problem and then i read this thread and changed my land scape from zoomed to standard and that solved the problem. Thanks guys!!!

Same problem with new iPhone 6 (4,7" one). I Checked rotation and it was unlocked. Zoom was set to standard. I tried setting both of those options and then resetting them back to unlocked and standard. Nothing.

then I restarted and opened the calculator. Still won't rotate. But this time, when checking the lock rotation setting, it was already SET. I unset it and calculator, Safari and everything else rotates correctly.

This appears to be an OS bug and not a defective hardware sensor.
