my new iPhone 6+ will not switch to landscape mode when turned horizontally in the homepage. Any thoughts about why this is? It will inindividual apps, but just not on the home page. And no, my screen orientation is not locked in portrait mode. Is anyone else having similar problems or have any suggestions?

You are wrong. Try Ocean20's method. My 6s plus can rotate now.
Found out on mine that I had the display settings on zoomed. Go to standard and hit set
TThanks! Had tried the display-view suggestion, but it didn't work. Don't know how the orientation lock was turned on, but that did it.
Thank you for that quick fix. Now it switches for me.
My phone working right out of the box. It didn't start acting up until I came home and updated it to restore items. It is now set to standard and still does not rotate. This makes me angry as I didn't really like some of the new features from the update.
This did not work for me, the lock is off, I am in standard, and it will not go to landscape.

The iPhone 6 home screen does not switch to landscape. That is a feature of the "+" models only. Your phone is working as designed.
Hey, I got it! When I switched to landscape, you get the screen where you can draw, and there is an icon there that switched it to landscape. So problem solved! Thank you for your fast responses.
