IOS 8 landscape bug

Not seeing the problem on my iPhone 5S. Try resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears. Once the reset is complete the "Slide to Unlock" screen will display. See if the issue is resolved.

II've been having the same problem, and I'm on iPhone 6. It takes ages to go from portrait to landscape mode - sometimes going blank for a split second before changing. I've noticed it also happens quite a lot when ive not used the phone after 10 mins or so. Ive reset the phone, but not much has changed. Would anyone know if this is something that a firmware update can fix, or is it a hardware issue?

When you say you reset the phone, did you press and hold BOTH the home and power buttons at the SAME time until the Apple Logo appeared, then let go of both buttons?

Yeah, and I've also reset all settings and it still does it. It's not all the time. Only seems to be after a while of not using it. I spoke to an apple service rep and they think it's the ram. Does anyone think this can be fixed with an update?

It's been happening a lot on my iPhone 6 today. My iPhone 5S has been resistant today. Sometimes old hardware is good hardware :-) :-(

Im finding its doing it after my phone has been in the lock screen for a few minutes. It then takes several minutes before it will let me rotate to lanscape. So strange!

I have the same problem. Portrait orientation lock is OFF and the screen will not rotate on ANYTHING. I have a new iphone 6 so I don't know if it is a glitch in the phone or IOS 8. But from reading the posts sounds like its a problem with the new IOS. Apple needs to get a fix out immediately as this will cause a lot of buzz on such an important feature not working. Not to mention, how it is even possible for the new IOS and phone to be released with this being missed.

1 hour later after more searching ... It is OK now, I powered off and back on. Don't reset your phone as that will cause you all kinds of other problems. So it could be a "hang" in the software. Apple should still provide a fix.

Another one with the bug here: 5s 32gb. Does not rotate to landscape mode in any app. Hope this is fixed quickly.

Have you tried any troubleshooting actions? Have you rebooted your phone? To reboot, press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPhone will restart. Did that make any changes to settings such as Lock Orientation?

Same issue here, iPhone 6+.

Rebooting, restarting, reinstalling is NOT going to help.

Same issue here. It is miserable. Apple truly *****. They always have bugs in their software. Because of this and the nature of how I use myy phone, it is now unusable.

I am on an iPhone 5. My issue is that it takes a long time to transition between the 2 modes, but eventually it does it.
