iPhone 6 dropping WiFi constantly

Got my iPhone 6 today and it keeps dropping my WiFi signal in my house and I cannot reconnect. When toggling WiFi off and back on it doesn't even pick any network in range, and there are usually 4-6 available. I have to power off the phone and power back on for it to pick up the WiFi signal again.

Very annoying. I hope this is a bug with iOS 8 that can be fixed ASAP and that it's not a hardware issue.

Anyone else having this problem?

Had the same problem with my iPhone 6 and my work laptop (windows 7) starting a few weeks ago - both would not stay connected to my home wireless network. All other devices were connecting fine to wireless (personal laptop, iPads, iPhone 5/5s). Called my work helpdesk and they had me run GPForceUpdate (force update of my group policy) on my work laptop and now both my work laptop and iPhone 6 are connecting to wireless without a hitch. Can't explain why this worked, but it did.

The following solution seems to help. I had one SSID for 3 WiFi access points (FritzBox kabelrouter with 2 Devolo's). My problem has been that
1. The 2 iPhones 6 in my house keep dropping their connection and
2. One of my MacBook's could not get connected to the FritzBox.

All other devices (some 30 other devices) did not have any problems to get connected over WiFi.

When I looked at the broadcast channel of my FritzBox I noticed that there were more than one device using the same channel. When I changed the channel to an empty slot my iPhone get connected immediate.

It is now 5:15 in the morning and at this moment I cannot test the MacBook, but I am quite sure that will solve that problem too.

Hope this will be helpful.

I am totally having this issue as well.

I have done all of the resets possible. (resert network settings, turning off location services, soft reset, hardware reset, etc.) I've done all of these more than once. I've called my cell provider and apple and my issue has not been solved. Extremely frustrated because my data rates are sky rocketing and there is no one to help me through it.

If anyone has a resolution please share!

I am not sure if this issue has been solved for anyone. I have tried everything that everyone has listed. My phone will connect and then drop and re-connect several times within a few seconds and then just completely lose connection and I will have to go into the Settings to pick a wifi connection. Sometimes when I select the network if with either connect just fine or it will ask for the password. I am about ready to just call Apple and ask their support because i cannot find any solutions or anybody who is having the same problem and my husband and I are.

Here we are a year later and the problem is still relevant. I have tried everything that everyone has said in the previous replies. Great job apple. Instead of making a feedback form only visible to you, how about you reply to these forums and actually make a difference with your customers. They're reaching out for help by coming to this website and you can't even get a feedback team to reply with a solution. There's 80 replies and 90,000 views!!! (That's a lot of ****** off customers) All you had to do was reply with the solution but instead, this is still a problem and you'll continue to lose customers such as myself. Thanks for the help in resolving this issue.

Hey guys,

I spent a lot of time working on this tonight, as I've had similar issues since I got my iPhone 6 in March, and it's been beyond frustrating and no solutions in multiple threads have worked. I *believe* I have this figured out, as I just watched an hour-long stream without wiFi dropping (which never happens), so hopefully this applies to others.

I have a dual band router (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), with both using the same Name and Password, so devices latch on to either one (how it decides, I don't know). My router is the G1100 through Verizon Fios. I don't know how I got headed down this path but after hours of attempting things I decided to see if I could block my iPhone from having access to the 5 GHz band.

The router login is myfiosgateway.com and the username/password were on my router. In Wireless MAC Authentication I had to check the box that said "Enable Access List" in the 5 GHz Wireless column and then added the iPhone's MAC address to the "Deny devices listed below" list, and hit Apply to save the changes.

Since my iPhone could now only connect to the 2.4 GHz band I turned off Wireless QoS (WMM) for the 2.4 GHz. Whether the two are related (for example, both have to be done, just the first has to be done, or just the second has to be done), I'm not sure, but my phone hasn't lost its WiFi signal since. Granted, to this point we're only talking about a few hours since I made the changes, but typically it'd drop every 10-15 minutes or so and take another few minutes to get it back.

Hi everyone! So I probably started having this issue after the last IOS update (9.2) so I blamed it on that. I did every solution discussed in this forum. Resets, router settings etc. Nothing has worked. Then I tried taking off the protective cover on my phone. Amazingly enough, I haven't dropped my wifi signal in the last hour! And my GPS (which was constantly dodgy as well) seem to be working again! So I don't know if my cover is just really dirty or a combination of the solutions just took a while to work. But I would definitely try this simple act of just taking the phone cover off first if you've got one. Cross fingers this is not just a lucky coincidence.

I am on my second Iphone 6 since Thanksgiving, and both have dropped wifi constantly at my home, despite my family's other 2 Ipads and 3 Iphone 5's being stable with wifi. Both times I've contacted Apple, they have refused to acknowledge that there is a systemic problem, despite me telling the senior support person of the over 130,000 hits on one discussion of this on THEIR FORUM. After running diagnostics, Apple had me go get another phone from the store. The new phone was stable for about a week, and then started dropping wifi like the first one. I asked the senior advisor why Apple can't resolve this problem after a year of this same issue, and she actually said she thinks that my carrier, AT&T, is toggling my wifi off and on in an attempt to force me to use more data to be able to wrench more charges from me! I told her that conspiracy would be right next to the Kennedy assassination theories, and that I would be contacting AT&T tomorrow and confronting them about this 🙂. I can't wait for their response.

Apple talked me into trying yet another Iphone 6, that they graciously agreed to send me without charging me $30 for faster service. I think that's their new customer service plan-just keep sending the customer new phones until they get tired of setting them up and give up.

Problem may be solved here! After months of same problem, trying all suggestions, we've now gone 3 days with no loss of wifi between both phones. Also our old ipad had started dropping constantly since updates. Our solution: turn off bluetooth toggle switch in settings. We don't use any bluetooth devices on our phones, so wondered about it being "on". looked at old 4S phone (which worked fine) & bluetooth was off. Ipad also was set to on. I think everytime there's an update, it changes to "on", so have to turn off each time. Hope this works for others!

EUREKA!!!! Hi. I had this problem for months. Did everything all the posts suggested, including emptying my fone. Then, I had an idea and tried to use my ipad as a personal hotspot for the iphone. Impossible. So, I went to settings, personal hotspot, on my iphone and turned it OFF. ONCE THE PERSONAL HOTSPOT WAS TURNED OFF, I had full and reliable wifi!!! Try that!!!
