iPhone 6 with 1 gig of ram, that's disappointing.

hello apple and hello my friends.

i Had iphone 5 with 1 gb ram, i have ipad mini with 1 gb ram, and everytime when i use safari with more than 3 tabs - my iphone or ipad reload pages!

so... I hoped that in iphone 6 apple will add more ram to use safari with 3-4 tabs.. . And yesterday i bought iphone 6 plus and...... Again 1gb of ram... Again page reloads, again no multitasking in safari without page reload..

I Pay over than 1000$ FOr iphone and i get same ram as my iphone 5 !!! I have same problems with safari!! It's terrible .

why samsung puts 3-4 gigs of ram, and apple just 1gig? Because of soft and hardware optimization?? No!!! Because they make money on us! After one year they will make iphone 6s with REVOLUTION 2 gb of ram and REVOLUTIONARY SAFARI MULTITASKING.

and now question to apple.

my iphone 6 plus reloads safari pages, how can u fix my iphone?

I suppose it's a hardware development bug. Safari and Navigation software with dozens of POI on the map is always a headache for 1GB of RAM.

Just made a post here about it, but it was deleted with the following reason stated: We removed your post iPhone 6/6 Plus lost 1Gb or RAM. because it contained information about beta software available only to Registered Apple Developers

By the way: this brings some understanding regarding this issue.

but no representatives or employees of Apple are here or respond to or see posts.

I don't know how you can possibly know what all Apple employees are reading.

As I recall, there was a problem between the interaction of iMovie and iDVD that was being discussed on these forums. I received an e-mail from an Apple employee asking for additional information about the problem. I was not expecting or asking for any type of reply from Apple.

I agree, that if someone wants to communicate directly with Apple they should use the feedback form or send a letter to their street address.

It has nothing to do with RAM. It is a software bug or software design, not sure which. The iPad Air 2 has 2 GB of Ram and does the same thing as did the iPad Air with iOS7. There is another thread with 65, yes 65 pages of people complaining about this bug with iOS 7 and now 8.1.

The memory leak is pretty bad and Apple has not fixed it yet and I went to the Apple Store and demonstrated on every iPad Air 2 they had on display with the Apple Techs. They know of the issue.

Wrong in what point?

The article literally says:

OS does not use this style of garbage collection and does not slow down in constrained memory environments.

So 1GB for iOS results in more performance than 3GB for Android.

That means that because of the way iOS is designed, it operates better with 1GB of RAM than Android does with 3GB of RAM.

Yes it is. Can you imagine I've read it before post.

Looks like it's ok with iPhone 6 and iOS 8. I personally care about life cycle of a product. I do not want to purchase a phone for 1 year. My 4S last for 3 years and still it's more or less ok. With iOS 7.1.1 not iOS8 of course.

But how iPhone 6 will run iOS 9 or 10?

Would it be the same as with iPad 1 and 5.1.1 - exactly low RAM issue with Safari and most of the apps?

Freezes is not N1 problem there, but 256M RAM.

Chris I am sorry all these people got to you first, their ignorance gives all of us a bad name. Unlike the others, I'm not going to blindly praise something just because it has an apple logo on it. 1gb of ram in 2014 is pathetic, but we all know how apple's marketing scheme works and in the end they are in it for the money - so we gotta play along to our best advantage. I read the entire thread here and the article linked, there hasn't been a single point that isn't just corporate rhetoric to make people not regret their purchase. Apple is all about short product life and frequent upgrades, if they released the 6 with 2gb ram, then it would be able to handle the later updates and people would be less willing to get the 7,8,9, etc.

That's adorable!

Two Master's degrees; Engineering and Information Technology; 20 years field experience with military grade systems, plus a few years of civilian experience now, focusing primarily supervising other tech that service & maintain mobile devices for a large corporation.

Now, were you just bumping an old thread to boast? Because there are a lot of other people in this forum that could jump in as well. Or was it that you just had an anti-Apple bias? Also, with all that experience, you'd think you'd be able to properly read and reply to the right person in a forum thread. Who is 'Chris'? You responded to 'O1eg'.

I'm exactly about it. Short product life. In many cases for most of the users Original iPhone is enough. If you want just to make phone calls, text, and listen to the music. And I have few friends who tried to find spare battery for original iPhone this year. Because it's functionality was more then enough for them. I also was satisfied with my first iPad (1gen) and first iPhone (it was 4s) and I didn't want to migrate to new models. But offline navigation systems like Tom tom or iGo do not support original iPad any more and I need new iPhone due to it's required for my job... only... Otherwise I could easily continue with 4S until it fail.
