iPhone 6 barometer not working

It looks like the barometer in my iPhone 6 (64GB AT&T) is not functioning. The "Flights Climbed" data under the "Health" app is not getting any data and the iPhone does not show up under "data sources" in the "share data" submenu. It does show up in the "Steps" tab. I've tried resetting the phone (and have done plenty of laps on the stairs). Anyone else experiencing similar issues? Does anyone know of a direct method for verifying the barometer's functionality?

Running theory: The health app is giving you NET flights, so if you go up and down, it might just give you a zero.

Anudder theory: It can't reliably tell if your on foot. Might give you credit for driving or not give you credit for the hike if the phone isn't bouncing right.

(disclosure: my theories have half lives of 46 minutes)

Having ruled out hardware: the barometer and GPS work fine and getting from 0-13 for the same 200 foot climb brisk walk, software must be getting confused.

No, it's not netting out the ups and downs. If you open the "flights" section of "Health", it shows a running record of flights climbed. It doesn't show any minuses. Many of us start and end a walk or run at the same place, so netting it out would be an incredibly stupid design assumption unless we were able to store energy by running down hill. I can see it all now - "Don't run downhill! It makes you fatter!!!". 😁

Hi having the same problem Sep 2016 -- w/ my iPhone 6. Been using the health app pretty consistently for last 5 wks, and yesterday in a mid hill walk the Flights Climbed meter just stopped working. I got up to 24 flights counted and it just stopped transmitting. I did 2 more hills which on previous walks averaged 3 flights, and it recorded nada, it remained at 24 flights. Both the distance and step meter continued to count off - but not the Flights Climbed. This morning I took the same hill walk, and again Zero data for Flights Climbed, but the distance and step meters worked. VERY Bummed. Does someone at Apple Health App need to go 'kick' the app or do a server reboot?
