iPhone 6 bluetooth not working correctly with Nissan

My wife and I each have a Nissan Pathfinder (mine a 2014, hers a 2013). We have always had out iPhones pairs to them, but the iPhone 6 is not working correctly. The phones pair, but there is no audio (in or out) during phone calls, the screen in the car does not show a call was initiated when dialing out, and the Answer and Disconnect buttons on the steering wheel are not working. We have restarted both phones, restarted the car, deleted the pairing and re-paired. Nothing works. Is anyone else having this problem? This is a HUGE problem and it needs to be fixed ASAP (I am hoping through a phone firmware upgrade).

I also noticed that my Jabra headset I use at my desk (although it works for calls), loses the functionality of the single answer/disconnect button. I am assuming this is the same issue to either the bluetooth radio hardware to firmware. I have only seen one page on the net talking about this to date. Any hep is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

My iphone paired fine to my Prius bluetooth, but I was having two issue after:

when I was listening to music, i got a text message and my phone when black and then white with the apple logo and wheel spinning. And then the music came back on and I could view the text on my phone

when I was on a call using the bluetooth in the car, another call came in, I was going to ignore the call and keep talking on the original conversation and all of a sudden I could not hear the person talking and they could not hear me. I grabbed my phone out of my purse and switched it said it said the source was still on the car stereo/bluetooth. I switched it to speaker phone and the person was still on the line, but said they could not hear me either.

I spoke to an Apple Support Senior Advisor today and they told me to go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings (first option). I did not lose any data, but had to reset my wallpaper, alarms, notifications, etc. I tested out the music/text issue and it seems to be gone. Haven't had the opportunity to test the call waiting issue, but hope that it is gone now too.

As frustrating as this new iphone 6 has been I will say that I have had a great experience with apple support over the phone!

Everyone including me are finding little workarounds.

The bummer is that the workarounds do not persist.

Typically there are ways to purge your settings (factory reset, reset all, logout of icloud then reset)

These all fix the problem for a short while, until you reboot your phone, resync with itunes, leave and re-enter your car, etc.

After many resets, I am just going to wait for a software update from Apple, because it is clearly needed.

If you are having issues and using iCloud on your iPhone, erase the paired device from your phone and from your car, then disconnect from iCloud on you phone (No need to erase data as iOS will ask)

Then reconnect to iCloud on your phone (simply put your username and pwd) and pair your phone again with your car system.

This worked for me.

I have the same issue with my 2009 Nissan Armada LE. I went through all of the aforementioned steps and nothing worked. Tried it again and I noticed that when my phone went to 4G I could make a call, but there was no audio from the vehicle. As soon as it went back to LTE, I fell back into the "No Service" from my vehicle. I even tried to update the "Name" of my phone under Settings>General>About>Name and nothing worked. This has got to be a SW issue that a patch should fix...at least I hope so!!!

I am getting really unhappy here. I can't believe Apple would release a "panic update" (an update within a week of launching the product) without fixing this HUGE problem. When I saw the update was available, I assumed that even though the Bluetooth issue was not addressed in the update report, it would still be fixed without Apple admitting there was a problem. But no, not only has Apple not admitted there is a HUGE bluetooth problem, but they obviously don't think seeking in a patch in the last update was important. If this turns out to be a hardware issue that isn't fixable, they are going to have a HUGE class action fight on their hands. For a bluetooth transmitter in a phone to not be compatible with 2014 cars is just insanity and you CANNOT blame the auto manufacturer for this. Not to mention, it is not only cars but headsets and bluetooth speakers as well. TERRIBLE on this one Apple.... and then means something for me to say it because I am the biggest Apple cheerleader on the east coast!.

If as you say you are the "biggest Apple cheerleader on the east coast," one has to assume you've been around a while. And if you have, you know that Apple addresses issues, especially one like Bluetooth and especially since it's been widely reported in the press as soon as they have a solution. The 8.0.2 update released was two-fold and Apple was pretty specific on what it addressed, which was to make the Health App work and to correct the mess from the release the day before. There was no mention of Bluetooth in the release, likely because they don't have a release for that ready yet.

It's still unclear to me why some people are having Bluetooth issues and other's like me are having none. My two iPhone 6's paired instantly with both our cars and we also both have Bluetooth headsets which paired instantly. But, I'm sure Apple will figure out where the pairing issues are, you just need to be patient. Ranting won't help you in this situation.
