iPhone 6 bluetooth not working correctly with Nissan

My wife and I each have a Nissan Pathfinder (mine a 2014, hers a 2013). We have always had out iPhones pairs to them, but the iPhone 6 is not working correctly. The phones pair, but there is no audio (in or out) during phone calls, the screen in the car does not show a call was initiated when dialing out, and the Answer and Disconnect buttons on the steering wheel are not working. We have restarted both phones, restarted the car, deleted the pairing and re-paired. Nothing works. Is anyone else having this problem? This is a HUGE problem and it needs to be fixed ASAP (I am hoping through a phone firmware upgrade).

I also noticed that my Jabra headset I use at my desk (although it works for calls), loses the functionality of the single answer/disconnect button. I am assuming this is the same issue to either the bluetooth radio hardware to firmware. I have only seen one page on the net talking about this to date. Any hep is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

My story gets stranger. While at the Nissan dealer today, I asked about the problem. The service manager said there were no updates for the phone/bluetooth but that one of the service techs had an iPhone 6 and he'd try it out.

Well, if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed it. We unpaired my phone and then we paired his phone. It worked perfectly. Calls could be initiated from the car, Siri worked, phone books worked, call history...you name it.

We re-paired my phone and no luck. I could make a call from the phone but none of the functions I listed above worked. And when I did initiate a call the display on the car showed "Call Waiting" and a phone number I had dialed two days ago.

The tech's phone is an iPhone 6, 16GB on T-Mobile. Mine is 128GB on AT&T. Both running 8.0.2.

I have a call scheduled with Apple tech support tomorrow. Hopefully they won't blow me off again and tell me it's a Nissan problem like they did a few days ago. Something is clearly wrong with either the phone, the bluetooth chipset or the software.

I know that Bluetooth is an issue but is anyone having other issues? The 6 is quite glitchy. The keyboard doesn't come up at times when I try to text, screen orientation doesn't switch at times, apps close all of a sudden, and I miss tons of calls because the phone doesn't ring (no cell connection). Glitchiness was the reason I left Android 2 years ago.

OK, file this under "I thought these stories were made up but it happened to me..."

I spoke to Apple again today in the hopes of returning and exchanging my iPhone 6. That wasn't moving forward and the support rep sent me an email with a reference to the following document: If you can't use a Bluetooth accessory or car kit

Of course I rolled my eyes as I read it. However, I tried it, deleted an iPod (4th gen) that I had in the car that was running iCloud (for no good reason). Followed the rest of the instructions and guess what? Everything is working as expected. I am still waiting for it to stop working but for now I am able to do everything from the car, dial, hang up, answer calls, access the phonebook and stream music.

This is simple and worth a try to those of you frustrated with bluetooth functionality and the iPhone 6. No restores or resets. Just remove unused devices.

I hope it works out for all, or at least some, of you.

Best!

I have a 2013 Q5. I can connect, but lots of static. I connect my Iphone 5 with IOS7 works great. I called Apple and they tell me its an Audi issue. They said Audi needs to update. So I call Audi and I have the latest software. I call Apple and they still say Audi issue. So APPLE, I guess you make a new phone and you expect the car makers to fix your problems.

I have tried all the fixes and whilst the 'Reset All Network Connections' worked as soon as I turned my phone off and back on that stopped! I have a Range Rover Evoque 2013. Come on Apple the is a crack down in the UK on using your mobile phone whilst driving, I wonder if they will pay any fines incurred? As I understand IOS 8.1 will fix this problem!

This is what LR UK suggest:

Action

If the user is experiencing the above mentioned symptoms then they should go to settings, select iCloud and then turn that option off. The user should then delete the car's bluetooth pairing from the phone and then turn the phone "off" and then "on".

Whilst the phone is being power cycled the user should then delete the phone from the car's system.

The phone should then be paired to the car and start using it as normal.

Well I'm still having this problem and I have tried everything. I've renamed my phone, deleted my Jaguar XF, deleted my bluetooth Plantronics that I use for my other vehicles, repair and still nothing. I've Reset Network Settings, deleted, paired again, it worked, but for less than 24 hours. No longer working. I'm on iOS 8.02 and nothing is working. It's definitely not the vehicles. It's the software and the 6! My iPhone 5 worked with no problem. Something is wrong and Apple needs to address this. Handsfree is Mandated and I can't even pick my phone up to talk through the speaker, which is sickening in itself to have to do because you have the tools to be handsfree, but the iPhone 6 isn't working. I'm past frustrated about this. Just fix it!!

this did it for me....

  1. 1) Log out of icloud on the iphone – SETTINGS, ICLOUD, SIGN OUT (AT BOTTOM)
  2. 2) Delete car/headset from iphone – SETTINGS, BLUETOOTH, SELECT DEVICE, FORGET THIS DEVICE
  3. 3) Reset network connections – SETTINGS, GENERAL, RESET, RESET NETWORK SETTINGS
  4. 4) Delete iphone from car memory
  5. 5) Restart phone
  6. 6) Pair to car/headset as normal
  7. 7) Log back into icloud to use icloud features

All done!"

thank you, this step finally works for me.

I am having the same issue with my 2013 CTS coupe. It pairs but no audio can be heard. I have removed the pair from the car, powered off my I-6, waited for :30 minutew, then power back up and re-pair back to the car, the problem continues, no matter what suggestion there is out there on the market, it has not worked for me.

This is issue came up as the latest IOS was released. Pairs but no audio transmits. The radio would reduce it's source and allow the phone conversation to work, but as of this week it has stopped working.

Apple please do something, the price is high enough to not have full features you promised that we could enjoy
