iPhone 6 not connecting to car Bluetooth

So I got my iPhone 6 yesterday, and while all seems well, I can't get it to connect to my car's Bluetooth system. My older 5S running iOS8 does fine, so I don't think is the OS... And, frankly, this is an after market bluetooth set up in my 2006 Murano, but all other phones can connect, just not the iPhone 6.

There is no manual for the car's system, but I've managed to get it to "search", and while the car does find my phone, there is no way to enter a code on the phone to get it to pair properly. And the phone NEVER sees the BT module in the car to do the pairing.

Again, this is NOT a iOS 8 problem... but one with the new iPhone 6

For everyone having this issue, this worked for me. My phone too was not showing the PIN for my Ford Sync. I got angry and just spoke 4 random numbers into my Sync and my PIN pad suddenly appeared on my phone. I typed in that number and it connected. The SYNC wanted me to tell it what number I wanted to use. Hope this helps someone out there as I see this issue on several vehicles. Try it and it might work for you.

Updated my iPhone 6 to 8.4 & have lost all Bluetooth connections. Does not pair with my 2012 Ford anymore or with my Canon printer or with my Jawbone UP 2. This *****. Hope they do abother update to correct their problems

There was nothing in 8.4 which should have caused the pairing of your phonne to stop pairing with you car. So, waiting for an Apple update would be foolish, when the vast majority of uses have had zero issues. What troubleshooting things have you done to re-pair your phone with your car?

I had a similar problem with my BMW. I went into settings and set my device accidentally to 'forget this network'. I had to rename my iPhone and reconnected by adding a new paired device. Now, I have an Apple Watch so my phone 6 plus connects to it AND the car since it has the ability to connect to two devices at the same time. Problem - I can't reply on my watch using dictation because the car takes over audio

I have a 2011 Subaru Impreza and bought an iPhone 6 last October. It paired to my car radio just fine until iOS 8.3 came out.

Now, I can get the car to pair to the phone IF I try several times to connect. I have to turn off the radio and turn it on again after pressing the car device. If I do this several times the phone eventually connects. I'm not sure what eventually gets it to connect, the only thing that I know is that I have to keep turning the radio on and off and re-trying the pairing from the phone, and eventually it pairs, sometimes even when the radio is off.

When I recently took the car to the dealer, I asked if they had a fix for it or if I needed to wait for Apple to fix it. He told me that many people are having this issue with the iPhones and pairing. So, while you may not have the problem, it does exist.

I have tried resetting the network settings and resetting all settings then re-pairing the phone. Never works. I have also been on Apple phone support and they can't help me fix the problem.

My son who is 15 will start driving and we have been planning on him getting this car. However, I'm not going to have a teenager drive a car that doesn't have handsfree phone working at a higher reliability than this one works. Not sure what we'll do, but am hoping that Apple will come out with a fix for those of us who aren't able to simply buy a new car.

The iphone DOES pair with my husband's 2015 Subaru Outback, so there's something in the older software that is causing the problem.

Hello All, I am new in this ****** long post about IPhone6 and blue tooth connection.

17 pages! incredible for such an old process! I didn't read all pages in detail but I didn't found my problem.

So, I add my cent on this subject.

Since a few days I am having my new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and I am getting some troubles with the BT connection with My Iphone 6Plus running on iOS 9.0.2!

BT connection ran without problems. And I can use the handfree phone, I can read the music on the iPhone6, I can see and use my contacts list on the iPhone6.

BUT, I cannot transfer this list to the car as it is permitted. On the car I can go up to starting the transfer of the list, the transfer seem to start, and I get the message "transfer terminated" BUT, nothing is transferred on the car!

I already made a full reset on the phone and on the car. But never reach to transfer the list.

I too was having this same issue with my new iPhone 6plus and my Honda CRV. I had to delete my old phone in the car, and then add my new phone. It was still recognizing old iPhone. Go to YouTube and search for delete pairings in my and type what model car you have. After that you can search how to add a new phone in your car. I did it and it works now!

Many thanks Elise,

But my problem is more complex I think.

I am the very first owner of that car (Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV) So there were no cell phone connected before I tried to connect mine.

The situation is: my iPhone 6plus is well recognized by the car. I can receive calls and call. BUT, it's impossible to transfer my contact into the car. This is very annoying due to the fact that I work a lot and my car is sort of extension of my office. So said this mean that I have calls to do. And I bought the car also because it has a voice recognition. But I can't use it if my contacts are not recorded into the car....

Have you tried this:

Settings > Bluetooth

Tap the little circle on the right with the little i in it

Make sure you have Sync Contacts on

If you've done that it isn't working, this would appear to be a Honda issue, not an iPhone issue. I'd contact Honda directly for assistance.
