Hello.
After updating to iOS 8.0, Numbers is crashing a lot.
I'm not using iCloud Drive.
iPad Air
iPad, iOS 8
Numbers on my iPad and iPhone running iOS 8 crashes whenever I scroll very far through any but my smallest spreadsheets. It is almost totally unusable. I have to use Numbers on my MacAir which works fine on the same files. The previous iOS version of Numbers also worked fine on these files.
dmbraddy, you are absolutely right!
Scrolling fast crashes numbers.
Scrolling very very slow horizontally or vertically it works fine.
Scrolling very slow diagonally it crashes.
Same here, now Numbers is unusable. So much for the closed ecosystem. Crap update.
I Have the same problem. And I use my mini and iwork almost exclusively for work. when will they fix this????
I have the same issue. Numbers did not crash using iOS 7. It actually worked well on my I pad 4. Once I installed iOS 8 Numbers crashes when you scroll through the pages. At times I can limp it along by only scrolling 1 page, by clicking a cell and dragging it down then clicking another cell etc., never allowing the clicked cell to leave your screen. It is absolutely ridiculous that Apple has not fixed this issue. I am generally the guinea pig on all the updates at work and amongst my friends so all I can say is DO NOT update to iOS 8 if you depend upon Numbers.
Same with my 3rd generation iPad. It is so bad I can't use it. In horizontal mode it crashes when I scroll left or right, but it's slightly better in vertical mode. All I can say is, way to go Apple. Your products are becoming as unreliable as your competitors. I have never experienced such a lousy upgrade as IOS 8. What's the rush with IOS updates? Why not make them every two years and make sure the whole ecosystem is stable and functions the way it should, instead of rushing a half-baked product out just to appease the masses?
I have the same problem with Numbers after upgrade to IOS8. All the small spreadsheets works fine, the big ones makes Numbers to shut down when scrolling vertically.
i did reduce the number of check boxes in a big check list and this did stabilize the program that now run OK with this particular sheet.
Same here, a template sheet that I have been copying and reusing every week for months now is impossible to work with (copies crash and the original crashes).
I can confirm it is to do with either scrolling too fast or too far into the 'elastic band' at the side or top of the screen. With great care and patience, I can just about record the data I need to record, but this is really tiresome to work with.
The iOS8 update should have been so much more worthwhile, instead it's the pits!
Numbels is crashing here as well on iPad air and iphone6 both with ios8 during vertical scroll. The spreadsheet is big and has lots of checkboxes.
I also have lots of check boxes on my sheet too...is this where the issue stems from?
I believe the problem is related to the checkboxes but not enough data to say for sure as this is based on a sample of one. If I scroll quickly on other worksheets (not as quite as large) within the same spreadsheet file, that do not include checkboxes, the program does not crash.
Have updated to iOS 8.1 beta 2 (iPad3 and iPhone6+) and the crashes while scrolling are still there.
I reported this problem to iWork support 18 days ago. They promptly replied and asked me to send them crash logs and a spreadsheet. I did. I've heard nothing further.
I have a spreadsheet that sits on iCloud. It has lots of checkboxes. Scrolling to the bottom consistently makes it crash. It is for my own company and unfortunately currently unusable.
iOS 8 has been a VERY buggy release. No hands free in my car right now either!
Where exactly do you report the issues.I'll send my report too. Now there seems to be a few people confining it relates to check boxes, this is likely importnt information.
