Apple TV - iOS 8 and Radio Station Error

Hello,

I recently updated my two Apple TV's to iOS 8 when the new release came. After doing so, whenever I would play a radio station, any one, it would play for about 10 minutes and then an error would appear on the screen saying "An error occurred loading the content". This happened on both Apple TV's. On one of them, I downgraded the firmware to 6.2.1 and now the radio station plays continuously. I wanted to report this issue so it can hopefully be addressed soon.

Thank you.

An update,

Just had a long talk with with a very pleasant supervisor in Texas today Oct 3rd as the problem still persists.

Powered off Apple TV box to do a reset but to no avail.

I might add that all other Apple TV facilities work very well.

Watched a two hour HD movie without so much as a glitch.

Bulletin,

"Apple aknowledges that there is an issue and it is under investigation".

Chap in Texas has me on his call list so any pertinent updates I get I will pass on to this thread.

I see other threads in the communities.

Remember,

Keep Calm and Carry on watching Apple TV.

have you ever thought, buying things without paying for their functions? by paying once your free of charge?

and whats a freezer? once bought you pay for cooled milk. go and buy beats, buy itunes songs, pay for tv, pay for watching.

and for the look on the other hand, you sold something and it's possible to make cash with every use. and seen this you will explore devices for generate some money.

as you see now, you've learned something: it's no bug it's a feature for the benefit of a better world!

Sunday morning and about 15 mins into some Music, I get the dreaded error message.

I Didn't bother searching for a thread, because I assumed it was a wireless issue. Except, I helped my sister inlaw setup her ATV and it is direct wired. She gets the same error messages.

SO frustrating as it happens every single time. Sometimes I can squeeze 20 mins of music out of the box.

IT doesn't hapoen when I stream from my iTunes library, only the Radio. it's a shame is I really like some of the radio stations.

"A lot of people have been reporting this same or very similar behavior over the last week or two. For me, it just stops playing, but there is no error message, & going back to the menus & trying again does not get it playing again.

Since I can access the same Internet radio stations from iTunes running on my Mac & they do not have this problem, I assume it is caused by some bug in the ATV OS."

Really frustrating... to me, it does not matter it's not a lot of us that use ATV for internet radio... if the feature exists, it should work. In my case, most of my ATV use is for radio... the mentioned workaround - i.e., iTunes radio and airplay - is not a workaround. It prevents one from just playing the radio stations from the ATV remote... it's just silly that apple support even mentions it... same with downgrading iOS... anyway... this post does not help, apologies...

About downgrading Apple TV 3G (2013):

I have downloaded the correct release 'AppleTV3,2_6.2_11D257c_Restore.ipsw'. But when I select and click on this file, I get the message: "The Apple TV « Apple TV » could not be restored because the firmware file is not compatible" (for me, in french of course !).

This download link https://ipsw.me/all#AppleTV32 shows which model's firmware are signed by Apple for Apple TV (Apple Signing Status): firmware not signed by Apple will not get restored to Apple TV via iTunes. Therefore it is not possible to restore my Apple TV 3,2 (A1469 Model) to any of the previous firmware versions.

Hi All,

Same issue here. Latest software version, 90 Mbit wired internet connection (Netherlands), and radio stations that break up after about 10 minutes - no streaming issues with other devices. Highly annoying. Submitted the feedback form, but am not expected any response.

Does anyone have heard anything from anyone concerning this bug?

Kind regards,

Michel
