Facing similar problem on wifi dropping intermittently on iPad Air. I noticed this with my joint 2.4G/5G networks. The way to recover is to switch off and then on the wireless on the iPad.
Hope a new firmware patch from Apple soon to fix this.
It looks like Apple has a another bug to squash. It appears the issue with locking up my C1000A has to due with IPV6. I hit the reset button on my modem and IPV6 was turned off. I turned IPV6 back on and while I was testing connectivity with http://test-ipv6.com my modem locked up. I turned off IPV6 and no issues so far.
I have the same problem... after upgrading to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5S the wifi connection it's very unstable. I have to go to settings and turn off/on all the time. 😠😠😠... I've seen a lot of people with the same issue... Hope Apple releases soon an update to fix the problem...
Until Apple figures things out, try this it worked for me. I have the IPad Air 16 GB version. In Settings, turn off "cellular data" as well as "enable lte". This will restrict you to wi-fi only but I haven't had any issues while on the web. It's fast and works normally as it should. Hope this helps.
I Am having wifi issues too & tried to reboot but my iPad won't turn off! I'm no novice with my apple products - am holding both buttons down for along time & nothing happens
Turn off cellular data and enable lte. It worked for me.
Hello All,
For all the users who are seeing issue with Wi-Fi after upgrade to iOS 8, follow the below instructions :-
Navigate to Privacy - Location Services - System Services ( at the bottom ) - WiFi Networking.
By default Wi-Fi Networking will be on .. turn it off.
It worked for me, hope it will work for you all too.
Hi All,
This is the first time I've needed to post to this forum, I've been fortunate that I've had no problems with my iPads or iPhones until now.
Since upgading to iOS 8.0 on my iPad Air, I've had the exact same problems as you've had with either very slow wifi or the wifi droping out altogether. This happens both at home or when out using public wifi. I've reset my iPad, power cycled it, reset the network settings, nothing.
My iphone 5S is fine, my old iPad (model prior to iPad Air?) given to a friend is fine.
I had hoped Apple might have included a fix in iOS 8.0.1, which I didn't install by the way, but it didn't.
Anyone know if Apple are working on a fix, have they even acknowledged this problem exists? Hoping they do very soon.
Same problem with me. After iOS 8 upgrade, the wifi becomes intermittent and impossible to use. I've tried everything to fix but nothing... 😟
is there any fix to this bug?
Thanks to SPECTER57, your solution work for me
I have an iphone 5s upgraded with IOS 8 and have a wifi problem
I already try to reset network, turn off wifi location and restore my iphone using itunes but my wifi still has a bad connection until i read your solution says to turn of cellullar data and using only wifi, i tried and my wifi now act normal .
Turn off cellular data for now and use Wi-Fi only. Apple will release a new patch in the next few days.
Turn off cellular data for now and use wi-fi only. Apple is preparing a second "patch" that should be released within the next few days.
Having the same wifi issues here on both my new iPhone 6 and my iPad Mini Retina. I did not notice these problems initially, however the past 3 days wifi has become almost useless on these devices. Rebooting does not fix the problem. Thought it was my internet connection, but all my other devices, iMac, TV's, etc. are working just fine. Just my iOS 8 devices. Turning off cellular data did nothing to help.
8.0.2 released earlier this evening. It seems to have taken care of the problem with wifi and pages loading slowly.
I just updated to 8.0.2 and it seems to have fixed the problem on my iPad Mini Retina, however it DID NOT fix it on my iPhone 6. ðŸ˜
