Wifi has been completely unreliable for me. I have an iPad 2 and iPhone 5, upgraded last Friday. I have not installed patch 8.02 yet, but don't recall seeing anything that addressed this specifically in the release notes.

When I first upgraded, everything looked OK, and it was only after a couple days' use that the problems started. The wifi signal bars show maximum connection (Is that even working? I know I don't have maximum connectivity in all locations). Wifi will work OK sometimes, then disappear. When that happens, Safari will sometimes work, but apps won't -- any app that tries to access the network crashes. What's really, really frustrating is that there's no message or failure indication at all, so it's hit or miss with whether things work. I rely on an alarm clock app -- when I'd go to sleep, I'd check that I could access the radio station I'd want, then by morning the signal would be gone; at least the default sound works reliably! I then tried the same thing on my phone, thinking perhaps it was a problem with the old tablet. The phone did the same thing -- wifi worked at first, but by morning gone. I've tried games, Kindle reader, Apple app store, internet browsers (I have Chrome and Safari), game center, and nothing makes a difference.

So -- two devices fail. Cellular is off in the iPad (it has 3G, but I never bought a cell plan for it, so keep it off). I have two wifi routers, an Apple router and a Google fiber router. Also have an Apple TV, which seems to work OK after the upgrade, but I use it much less. My husband has an iPad 2 and iPhone 5s, and has not (so far) complained about wifi, but it may be a matter of time (kind of ironic, since he had constant wifi problems with the iPad in iOS 7, to the point that we thought that device a hardware problem). He doesn't have 3G on that iPad. Again, though, I think it's a matter of time until he starts with these problems.

Even if resetting a device's networking entirely and resetting the routers worked, that's not a viable solution -- it's annoying at home and impossible when elsewhere (Hey, mind if I reset this entire facilities' routers?). Turning off cellular, even if it worked, isn't a viable solution on a phone, either.

http://www.zdnet.com/unofficial-fix-for-ios-8-0-1-roll-back-to-ios-8-0-700003402 2/ Try this rollback to ios 8 then wait for Apple to release a fix that will work for everyone. Apple is in "damage control" mode now and I'm sure they are working around the clock to make things right. I'm not addicted to Apple products like some people so it's easy for me to move on to a much better phone and operating system. Good luck.

iOS 8.0.2 has broken wifi on my iPad Air. It was ok with 8.0 with the occasional disconnect but 8.0.2 has totally screwed over my iPad Air! IT looks like Apple has rushed iOS 8 to the public. As a developer I was working with the betas which were riddled with the issues people are complaining about, the gold master worked well at least better than the previous betas however it became apparent upon installing the GM and the latest updates that iOS 8 is not ready for the prime time. I am sticking with 7.1 on my 5S and enjoying the fact I don't have cellular, wifi or springboard issues cluttering up my diagnostics.. Apple needs to fix this **** ASAP.

Yes I have same problem - sometimes my iPhone 6 running 8.0.2 cannot see any wifi networks or only a subset of local wifi networks. And even turning wifi off and on doesn't correct the situation. After I power the phone off and on it sometimes shows them all and auto connects to the one I usually use. But that is just temporary and after a while the other local networks disappear from the list of networks completely. You can't even connect to them by typing in the network name and password. I had problem with iOS 8.0 also, update to 8.0.2 hasn't helped at all.

I have same problem on iPad too.

You have to ask whether Apple testers are doing their jobs properly.

iPhone 5s on iOS7 was always 100% reliable connecting and showing local wifi networks.

I Upgraded my iPad air to iOS 8.0.2 and it was the worst decision. The Internet pages take ages to load up. My wifi drops randomly. This is a nightmare!

I have the same problem. We do nothing with an ipad without internet ...

My Iphone 5s with Ios 8.0.2 work fine with wifi.

Well. First all started on 8.0 after upgrade. WiFi started to drop off after a surfing sometime (about 15-20 min). The indicator shows that signal is strong, but its starting to work again only if I restart wifi, Same thing on 8.0.2 (In chanelog i havent seen anything about wifi). Non of the reccomendations helped. So its the fault of ios 8. Everything worked perfectly on 7. Even the full restore without applying backup didnt help. And yes I checked my WiFi.
Apple, have you even tested the ios 8?
So its the second week, the device is not usable. Great job.

The best thing for all to do is be patient. No advice is going to solve this. I've been reading comments since iOS 8 came out. Apple is working around the clock to solve all the issues. They are losing money, potential customers, and their reputation has been tarnished. It does no good to write anything here. Unless you want to feel better by venting.
