Can't dismiss notification on iOS 8

I have the same issue.. This is very frustration..

Sometimes the screen also failed to register scrolling too..

This is one of the worst iOS Apple has ever released.. It's like still in beta stage....

Same iPhone 6 Plus iOS 8.0.2

This frustrating problem also goes for iPad Air, the notification bar was already taking up the space after IOS7 which was also extremely annoying. I also regret upgraded to IOS8!!!

I also had this problem but you can actually dismiss it by swiping from left to right. If it doesn't work then there's really something wrong with your device.

It does not work for me. I don't think that anything is wrong with my device.

Exactly the same problem here. iPhone 5S running iOS 8.0.2 (but its happening since the iOS 8 upgrade).

I also have this problem. Running iOS 8 on iPhone 4s.

I found a better temporary workaround that worked for me:

When notification gets stuck just rotate the orientation of the device. The notification should disappear.

II've also had this issue but I've found a temporary solution.

Try pulling down the notification/alert slowly and gently and then pull it back up! This has been working for me on many occasions

I notice it depends on what app I'm using to swipe away the notification if it works or not. Sometimes it works as it should other times the "trick" slight down then up or sometimes it doesn't work at all. Seems like a glitch that needs to be addressed in an update.

PLEASE HELP: I have a problem where I can't even swipe down my notification bar or swipe up to turn on my flashlight or access camera, calculator, stopwatch, etc. How do I fix this problem????

SETTINGS >> GENERAL >> RESET >> RESET ALL SETTINGS

If that does not work, try reinstalling IOS

Yes, this is affecting me, too, and I hate it! I have an iPhone 5S and the problem started after updating to iOS8, including the latest patch.

Hitting the home button is not a good solution as the whole point of drop-down notifications is they are not intrusive to currently active apps and they will go away on their own quickly and can be even more quickly dismissed. Minimizing apps does not always work well if you want to immediately resume using them. Notification and multitasking usability is now broken, and the notifications block active app features. What's worse is that trying to dismiss it makes it stuck on screen, the opposite of intended behavior. FIX THIS!!

use AssitiveTouch

when it freezes, press that touch, and move it around

Using Assistive Touch is not a solution unless you require assistance using touch screens normally. That is an unnecessary work-around. Apple has broken preexisting behavior and made iOS less usable than before. I'm going to end up turning off notifications entirely before long. Next phone is going to be a Nexus 6...

I used to have this problem, I think I have a solution: I think apple probably designed it to dismiss notifications in a new way. You just have to kind of scroll down the notification and swipe it back. Sometimes this doesn't work because you're using an app or something, so you just press your home button and the notification should go away.
