THIS IS WHAT SOLVED THE PROBLEM FOR ME:

  1. Make sure you deinstalled ALL apple software (iTunes, Bonjour, iCloud)
  2. From the icloudsetup.exe extract the AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi (by using "The Unarchiver.app" or "Winrar")
  3. After installing the AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi launch the Apple Software Updater and install iCloud from the selection menu you will get.
  4. After you rebooted the system (the updater will tell you), you will be able to launch iCloud as you wished.
  5. maybe you have to repair the iCloud installation in Apps & Features but this will also be told by the iCloud.app it self if there is need for.

HOPE THIS SOLVES ALL YOUR PROBLEMS

That would be great if you could stop it. I had my settings fixed so it wouldnt update but went to lunch one day and came back and it was ready to shut down after the update to install. Problem is I'd get a notice every so often saying do you want to update? I'd say no but there is a glitch that if you dont say no it does it anyway.

So with that being said I see a lot of people having problems with Windows 7 or windows 8 and the icloud for windows installer..................lovely!!

Try this

To update icloud with windows 7

-download iCloud installer 3.1.0.40

-go to install, it will ask if you want to remove residual iCloud

-uninstall it

-restart

-then remove folder "internet services" and its contents

\hard drive\program files\common files\apple\internet services

-then install version 3.1.0.40

-restart, logoff the iCloud in control panels

-install version 4.02

Was experiencing identical problem and tried multiple different suggested solutions, including those listed by members in this community. I was extremely hopeful that Apple was paying attention and patiently waiting for the latest release. That release (Version 4.1) is now out and, guess what ... the same installation problem remains unaddressed.

Am I the only one experiencing this problem, now with the new version? If I am, someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. If I'm not, Apple please address the issue.

Thank you!

Just an update. I have since installed Microsoft Windows Version 10 (resisted versions 8 and 8.1, for good reasons it turned out) and bravo to Microsoft for their free Windows 10 release and its totally smooth, not even close to a glitch install on my five year old HP running Windows 7 64 bit .. and EVERYTHING works - hardware, all installed software .. everything!

Of course, since the Windows 10 upgrade, I tried once again to install latest release of iCloud for Windows (version 4.1) when the screen prompt for it appeared and got the identical installation package failure error message.

Apple, I'm begging you .. please read through all the posts on this and similar support forums and release an iCloud for Windows update that will actually install smoothly and work, without the necessity for white hat deciphering of code.

Thank you,

Harry

I have just gotten a Windows 10 PC, running Windows 10 64bit Pro. iTunes / iCloud have never been installed on it previously.

Each and every time I try and install iTunes and iCloud , I get this error:

iCloud on Windows was running just fine with my current environment, but somewhere along the line I started getting this same error that "iCloud need to be repaired". Because of this error, I cannot sync eMail, contact, calendar, etc. Everything else functions except the previous mentioned apps. I have uninstall, reinstalled, repaired countless times But still get the same results. I even uninstall all Apple software, iTunes, Bonjour, Quicktime, support, etc. Reinstalled everything with success until iCloud for Windows, which was the last app installed and I got the same error.

Has anyone found a sure fix for this error? I'm not about to uninstall, reinstall or repair. As mentioned, I've done it countless times.

I'm running Windows 10, Version 1511, Build 10586.14, Office 365 version 2016, 64bit Intel I7 process, 32 GB RAM 12 TB of hard drives.

I resolved the issue by uninstalling all Apple software and then installing iCloud 5.1 (I could install 4). Interestingly, when attempting to uninstall the Apple Software Updater, failed to uninstall with exactly the same message that the iCloud installer failed with "icloud for windows has an invalid signature". I then repaired the Apple Software Updater and then the uninstall worked. I used the Revo Uninstaller Pro (30 day free) and cleaned up after each item I uninstalled. Credit to https://miapple.me/fix-icloud-for-windows-10-repair-and-installation-failures/ for pointing me to this solution. (This was on Win7)

Hi there,

To address your issue re Windows Installer, please try fixing it using the admin rights. For more info, plz read this official troubleshooting page@ https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2438651

Re-try the express uninstall wizard as the admin user. Choose the Repair option if you still have trouble performing the uninstall of iCloud for Windows.

Personally, to successfully uninstall iCloud for Windows, please do the following:

  • Gain the admin access.
  • Save all of your personal stuff like your photos, files.
  • Exit the unwanted iCloud client, then terminate all of Apple/ iCloud related processes by making the best of Task Manager.
  • User uploaded file
  • Re-try launching the traditional uninstall routine (Start > Cpanel > Add/Remove, or "Uninstall a program"); rid of other possibly unused items like Apple Software Update, if you do not use 'em. For complete troubleshooting instructions, you can read this story.

iCloud failure 11722, gets to the end of the install, fails and then rolls back

Strange sequence of events lead to the solution.

1) at boot, APSDaemon fails to start;

api-ms-win-crt-runtime-Lt-1-0.dll not found

solution: need https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226

pick the correct version for your windows install

2) the iCloudSetup.exe has several MSI installers. If you already have iTunes running, then this is an overkill.

Extract the correct iCloud.msi or iCloud64.msi for your OS

open 7Zip

drag iCloudSetup.exe into it

compress it

open the compressed version

open INSIDE

find iCloud.msi or iCloud64.msi

open the appropriate for your {32, 64}bit system

iCloud will now install.
