Canon LIDE 20 scanner driver for 10.9

I have an old, but perfect condition flatbed scanner, which worked fine with a PC. Now I have moved to a mac air, I can't use the scanner as none of the available drivers work with the latest OS.

I have literally visited 20+ download sites, including Canon, US & Europe but none of the files work.

Has anyone come across a way around this? Thanks

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Hi ...

Use the pre installed Image Capture app in your Applications folder for scanning.

Help here > Mac Basics: Using a scanner

Canon drivers are not necessary if you use Image Capture.

I opened Image Capture. It doesn't actually recognise any scanner. I thought maybe the USB cable was faulty but tried a PC and worked instantly. Can you think of another route? Thanks!
