Hi, I have a macbook pro mid 2012 13 inches, is not retina. It have 4 gb of RAM DDR3 and I want to upgrade to 8 gb. Can I use DDR3L RAM? Would I see differences?

No, you cannot use DDR3L ram in a DDR3 slot...the L designator is for low-voltage ram and will not work with the higher voltage of the DDR3 slot. In fact, it will more than likely destroy the ram.

You need to use the correct ram type and voltage rating.

We have a difference here. Please note the following:

I have had the Crucial dual voltage RAM installed in the 2011 MBP for almost 2 years. 1.35v vs 1.5v RAM will both be compatible. If I am wrong, do let me know. 🙂

Ciao.
