iPhone 6 won't turn on!!!
I just bought my iPhone 6 today. I put it on charger and it was charging the whole time when it suddenly turned off and won't turn back on. What should I do? How did this happen?

I'm having the same issue, I was using a music streaming app with my phone charged to 80% and then the phone randomly turns black and won't turn back on. Can anybody help me please!? the home+sleep button method is not working for me.
Connected my phone to the computer, nothing happened. Tried pressing power button for 30 seconds, didn't work. Pressed home button for 30seconds, didn't work... but after Pressing the power and home button for a few seconds , it worked for me... Whew! (that was scary!) thanks for this info!
I have an Iphone 6, two weeks old, almost no use. Battery fully charged, the phone was dead. By holding the power and home button together for 20 seconds I was able to start the phone finally. I have noticed that most of the post mention problems with the 64 gb phone. Is it related just to this model. Will there be a fix for this? Problem was first reported one year ago, and looks like it is still present in iOS 8.4. If it is hardware related, I would like to know so I can change it for another model (128 gb perhaps?).
Here's food for thought...
@cluisavila pointed out that many of the posts here mention having the 64Gb model. Last week, when I first upgraded from my iPh5, I got the iPh6+ 64Gb and it did the same power-off thing that my newly exchanged iPh6 64Gb is doing now. (I accidentally discovered holding the 2 buttons down to bail myself out last week.)
Come to think of it, the sudden power-off thing started happening on my iPh5, which prompted me to bite the bullet and go in to the AT&T store. Hmmm. Thinking out loud here, sorry!
Hope someone else can relate to my scenarios, then maybe someone that works for Apple could read these posts!
Cheers,
Paul
Thanks Brian,
Before my iPhone 6 completely went dead, I also noticed it flashing the blue screen several times before dying. Left it on the charger. The trick was to hold both the Home and Power button depressed for nearly 20 secs, then phone rebooted. I connected to the iTunes store and back in business with no further recovery needed. Great time to sync up. Appreciate the support.
Thank you, I freaked when this happened. Like most people all contacts are saved in my phone, but not after today. Back to paper and pencil just incase I need to use the house phone. lol What a pain in the ***.
The exact same thing just happened to me too. Watching Netflix and nearly full battery and it just shuts off. I started looking at this page and read a little, plug it into a computer and hold the power button and the home button at the same time. I don't know exactly how long, but it did work for me.
I had this exact problem with my iphone 6s 64GB. If Apple does read these comments then I hope they fix this quickly because I now regret trading in my 6 for the 6s. I've never had a problem like this before. I was nervous because I thought I was somehow at fault for it not turning on but when I found this thread I held my power button and home button for 10 seconds and it turned back on. I do hope that Apple fixes this soon because I do enjoy their products however, this is a fault that might just have me switch phone brands.
I have the 6s with 64 gb and this just happened to me too! I've had the phone 2 weeks with tempered glass and otterbox case. Thanks for the suggestion to press and hold home key and power. It worked! But a new phone shouldn't be doing this!
hi i've follow your step and when i connect my phone to iTunes the iphone icon is showing, but my phone is still all black i can't use it' it could charged, and when my friend tried to call my number it still connected (no report that the phone is turned off) do you know what should I do?
This worked when nothing else did, thank you (I have an iPhone 6)! Just plug phone in to your computer via your USB charger cord, launch iTunes (it probably won't recognize your phone), then hold both Power button and the Home (big circle at bottom) button together for 15ish seconds. iTunes then recognized the phone and started "Recovery" mode.
First time this happened...wondering if it's hardware or the iOS?
I read by someone on here that holding the home and lock button down at the same time for 20 seconds or so will restart the phone. It worked for me! When I did that it took me to the white screen with the black apple in the center, and it restarted from there. I recommend that. Nothing worked for me before, like I even was able to make a phone call (while still having a completely black screen) because I held down the home button for Siri, which was late responding anyway, I'm sure due to whatever this technical difficulty was. I had plugged it in a charger and plugged it into my macbook. Nothing worked before that.
I did hold the home and lock button down at the same time and counted the seconds, my phone restarted back up around 7 seconds. Scared the heck out of me when it just went shutdown for no apparent reason! 😢
I experienced this just now on my iPhone 6S Plus 128GB. I did not spend over $1000 on this phone for it to have such problems. Come on, Apple! You're better than this! Holding both Power and Home buttons for several seconds worked for me. The Home button became very hot too.
This happened to my daugher's new iphone 6s this morning, we were really unhappy, finaly we found solution here: push both the home and power button, then it restarted. But still, it is a big bug, never happened to my other iphones.
I'm using iPhone 6-128GB, today morning it just turned off. i connected to a laptop and pressed the key combination (ℹPower button ➕ Home Key) until the apple logo came(ℹabout 20 sec).
I hope this issue will solve in next update
