Copy and Paste do not work across many apps on an iPad Air, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 4S, and two iPad Minis. This is a systemic problem and not isolated to a single install or a specific device, or a unique application. Looking for an Apple fix VERY SOON since this is pretty basic functionality to BREAK on their platform.

SO far so good. IOS8.0.2 seems to have fixed it. Iwonder why it's not in the release notes?
Don't think 8.0.2 has fixed all copy paste issues. I am still facing copy issues in Messages app even after upgrading my 5c 16gb to 8.0.2. It worked perfectly fine in 7.1.2. In iOS 8.0 it works if I copy once but if I have to copy multiple times from one discussion thread, between Messages app and Whatsapp, then until I leave the discussion thread in Messages app and come open it again, Copy function doesn't enable. I am sure Copy / Paste issue isn't completely fixed in 8.0.2.

Actually, IOS 8.0.2 has NOT solved the select/copy problem that was introduced with IOS 8. I was making a comparison between two iPads (one running IOS 8.0.2 and one running IOS Version 7. Identical iPads hitting the SAME website as a location for select/copy functionality. The IOS 7 iPad worked well. It was able to select out a specific sentence or group of words in a paragraph. The IOS 8.0.2 iPad was only able to select blocks of text or a single word. It was clunky and broken. And it is still broken. Still awaiting the fix that puts the select/copy capability back to iOS 7 performance where it was useable. iOS 8 makes select/copy way more work than before.
I should have referred to the copy/paste problem more specifically as a select/copy problem since it is the higher fidelity select (prior to copy) that has become broken with the new O/S. It is still "broken" with the 8.0.2 update (in relationship to select of text when using Safari). I was doing extensive testing on multiple websites (comparing an iOS 7 iPad and an iOS 8 iPad). I am hoping we can get back to where we were in 7 while having the other features of 8.
Sometimes after iOS 8.0.1 I had this problem solved by touching screen button for more than two seconds when copying and when pasting.
no no copy and paset on iPod Touch in notes app or between Twitter and browser , but works fine on iPad. Both run 8.0.2
Yes, 8.1.1 seems to have fixed cut and paste, the speed, the crashing, and most of the wifi.
There is a bug in Safari: text cannot be selected in Safari if entries have been made in Pages and the keyboard there has not been retracted. Apple, please pay attention and fix. This issue has been there through multiple iOS releases and I keep hoping it will get fixed but I have not reported before.
