Copy Paste Broken after iOS8 Install

Copy and Paste do not work across many apps on an iPad Air, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 4S, and two iPad Minis. This is a systemic problem and not isolated to a single install or a specific device, or a unique application. Looking for an Apple fix VERY SOON since this is pretty basic functionality to BREAK on their platform.

I have used copy and paste with my 5S with iOS 8, so you may need to be a little more specific as to where it is not working to try and get help. I'm not sure this is a systemic problem not isolated, since it is not occurring on my device.

Secondly, Apple does not participate in the forum, so "looking for an Apple fix" will not occur unless you tell them about your problem. That is done on the feedback page, and that is accessed HERE. Then click on the appropriate link.

I did post to the Apple Support area (where IOS8 is not even registered on the website as a platform characteristic - somebody needs to update that also).

As to when and where the problems are occurring. The copy from Safari and past into Notes is a good example of where things have changed.

First of all Notes seems to support rich text from a PASTE standpoint but not so much from an "edit" standpoint. But that is not the real problem. The text select to copy functionality in Safari on iOS8 is not as robust as before. The SAME websites that I visit and some that I manage do not support simple large-block text selections for copy (large being 2-8 paragraphs of text).

The observed effect is that small (single sentence or single paragraph (sometimes up to 2-3 paragraphs) may be selected and successfully copied. But blocks that go from 5-10 paragraphs will generally "select larger" as the select-drag operation is conducted on the iOS device. Then the ENTIRE page text is selected which is a No-Op for copy. This is a condition that absolutely changed in the iOS8 upgrade. It worked wonderfully prior to that.

This select-to-copy condition make it very labor intensive to copy larger blocks of text and forces copy operations to be limited to 1-3 paragraphs at a time.

The other error I have encountered is with touch-to-select operations within IOS applications. These are applications that have text-select features that previously worked by simply selecting the text of interest (to highlight for example). For those conditions I have reported the error to the application vendor. It is IOS related but not quite the same problem as referenced here.

Well, I can say that I have not generally used copy for that large of a segment on a regular basis. My copy and paste has been limited to smaller blocks, which is probably why I am not noticing a difference. If you have provided feedback to Apple that is good. I've also noticed they have not caught up with adding iOS 8 to their feedback dropdown menu. Have to wait for Apple on both.

Just copying the text from the url field in safari and attempting to paste into a textbox on a forum has been a chore. It kept posting an old url that I copied hours if not days ago. I had to paste into Notes to ensure that the right text was copied, then went on to paste it in the text box. After a couple more attempts it finally worked. This was on myfitnesspal website

I'm experiencing IOS8 cut and paste problems within Instagram. When I select text and copy it to a new post the pasted text is from an older copy not from the most recent copy. IOS8 doesn't seem to remember the text that was saved in the last copy action. Intermittently the paste will be accomplished correctly and the most recent copy command will be used. But it then reverts to using older selections. Very disconcerting.

Problem confirmed on new iPhone 6, originally restored as backup from iPhone 5, then restored and set up as new iPhone . Problem is in textarea of jqmobile app I wrote, running in safari (i.e.not packaged in any way, simply accessed through browser). Kind of a problem. edit: iOS 8.0 (?) not on 8.0.1 yet. 2nd edit: never betaed, and the copy/select dialog never appears when press/hold.
