iOS 8 battery drain - Calendar, Contacts, Notes

Since upgrading my iPhone 5 to iOS 8 the battery is draining from 100% to 0% in about 4 hours without any usage. Happened yesterday during the day and again last night when I went to sleep with 100% and woke up with a 'dead' phone.

When I look at the batter usage the highest users are the Calendar, Contacts and Notes which note as "Background Activity" in the second line.

I haven't seen much about this in the discussions or searching on the Internet, could it be only me?

Another thing to mention, the phone is almost constantly hot/warm.

I have also been facing this same issue and my battery lasts only for 6 hours. Even after disabling the calendar using mobile data and all the other parameters including resetting. I wish there was something to delete the calendar app.Its quite annoying and apple has not replied to this fault anywhere in the blog.

same issue here. And beside this my calendar and contacts are eating my data like crazy too. Went to the store 3 times they promised me it's fixed each time but none of them works. Trying to create a new post describling my issue and it doesn't even let me post!

Same problem for me. In my case it's the notes app. I tried everything. Even resetting the iPhone. I think it's something to do with iCloud servers, and in specific with our accounts. It's as if there's some sort of pending action in the servers pertaining to our accounts, and the phone continues to request that action infinitely.
