iphone 6 slow motion import

I am unable to import my slow motion into FCPX from my iphone 6. What it imports is standard 30 or 60 fps video that plays at normal speeds. I can't for the life of me figure out how to bring it in as a slow motion clip. I even imported it into iPhoto, where it plays as slow motion, then go look at it in the FCPX media browser for photos and it again plays at regular speed (not slow motion).

Can someone help me figure out how to import slow motion clips into FCPX from the iPhone 6?

LLeave in place is one way to link to files outside the library. The other way is to copy to library location. You can assign anywhere, any drive, any folder, to copy the media into that's assigned by library properties. It doesn't have to be inside the library. Leave in place is one way, you just have to be careful you don't end up with stuff all over the place. For instance, leave in place as an import preference will leave music imported from iTunes buried into the iTunes folder structure.
