OK - understand that the two keys are reversed ?? * below I will refer to the key character for lower-case *

hold ⇧ Shift and type " / " yields the underscore character " _ "

hold ⇧ Shift and type " - " underscore yields " ? "

Key locations

" / & ? " is immediately left of the right hand ⇧ Shift key

" - & _ " is in between " = " key and the " 0 " key (top row of keyboard)

What keyboard? Make/model?

Is this issue 'sudden onset' ?? If so, what changed since your last joy?

System Preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources. Then click ‘+’ and add your local standard keyboard, or a different one..
