After IOS 8 upgrade many aplications ( Safari, Facebook, etc) load very, very slow (comparing with 7 version) , with a significant delay of more than 10 seconds...
Who can I solve this problem? Any workaround?

iPad 2
My iPad 2 became unusable after upgrading to iOS 8. Closing an app (single tap on the home button) and app switching (double tap) took forever to the point it felt like the the system had frozen. Everything else seemed to be running in slow motion. It was torture.
I spent the weekend reverting to iOS 7 and then reinstalling apps and reconfiguring everything. Looks like I may have lost the use of some apps too unless I can figure out how to revert them to previous versions (1Password, Pages, and American Airlines).
But my iPad is functional again. Lesson learned!
I had the same problems with my Ipad 2 after upgrading software: very slow, couldn't copy and paste, screen and apps would freeze. Deleting apps and photos, rebooting etc did not improve the functioning. Finally I found a solution and my IPad is functioning properly again.
Go to Settings- General- Turn off Multitasking Gestures. Reboot.
FIxed the problem for me. I hope it helps others!
OMG YOU ARE A FLIPPING GENUIS TOTALLY TOOK YOUR ADVICE TURNED OFF MULTITASKING GESTURES AND REBOOTED AND MY IPAD 2 IS RUNNING SMOITHLY AS IT DID BEFORE IOS 8 UPDATE..... THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
Turning off Multitasking Gestures worked for me to. Thanks ipad2tx!
NO Joy for me and my iPad 2 16gb wifi. I guess ill have to apputate other parts for this Frankinstein to rise again.

I also found that by turning off 'Handover' it speeded up my iPad2 and stopped draining my battery like i've never seen before.

Hello, my Mac Book Pro - late 2011, became progressively slower with 2 os upgrades.. I was advised to add more ram. I did so and additionally added a new solid state drive. Now it works faster than ever. To save money you may add just the additional ram (memory). This may be sufficient to get up to a good speed.
i Believe this or these hardware upgrades will solve the speed problem.
Not on an iPad, which this thread is about.

The hard reset improved speed, but still slower than normal. I am on this page as reaction to input has recently slowed long after the upgrade to 8. Not sure what is causing the problem? Will keep reading and document of any other alternatives?
Hi, so you are iOS 8.4.1, and iPad2,2 now? Still having issues?
We're all on the 8.4.1 with painfully slow iPad 2's, even with multitasking gestures disabled. I've done a couple other tweaks, but it's almost unusable...
Was this Apple's way of making us buy newer iPads? Cause if it is, it's not working but making me very disappointed in their thinking...why not just leave our iPads at iOS7?

If I'm not mistaken, I think on an old boot 10.7.5, I see ios 7 something in iTunes. I'll look. My iPad is currently 6.1.2
