iPhone 6 Bluetooth issue

I can't pair my iPhone 6 with the audio unit of my 2009 Acura. The unit does not even show up under pairable devices. Called the dealer and was told those head units are not updatable, I.e, the firmwear is fixed. WTH! Does Apple expect me to buy a new car every time I get a new iPhone?

2012 Honda Accord Sedan EX-L W/Nav - Problem is with IOS 8. I had the 5s and all was fine, downloaded IOS 8 and my bluetooth calls still work BUT another issue has started. BEFORE ios8 I would place a call on the phone and hit send or I use siri on the phone. Once the call is placed my radio would turn off and I would hear the ringing through the car speakers. Once they answered I would just talk like normal but there was never a drop in the call.

NOW, with ios8 I use siri or dial the number and the call is ringing on the handset UNTIL the person answers, then there is about a 2-3 second delay before the car picks it up. When calling my mother the first time she said her phone rang and she answered it and said hello 2 times before the car actually picked up. MAJOR ISSUE because I don't want to have to hold my phone to my ear to listen to it ring and see if the person answers or not. That is the whole point of Bluetooth. I deleted that phone and got the iPhone 6 64gb last Friday and same thing. I've tried resetting the phone, resetting the settings, and repairing the phone after deleting it from the car. I do consider myself lucky since my Bluetooth actually PAIRS to the car and does work after 2-3 seconds of the person answering but it's just a huge hassle. Oh and on the settings of the phone while dialing, it shows it's paired with the car.

Any suggestions?

UPDATE

So I gave the 64gb 6 to my wife and got myself a 128gb 6 (only because this was the only model in stock and I needed to replace her 4s that I broke while trying to install a new battery). I had no problem pairing the new phone with my Acura, but the Bluetooth connection has been wonky. I lose the connection while streaming, only to have it restored by itself 5-10 seconds later. This happens several time an hour. With my old 4s it happened her rarely, maybe once a week.

Same situation here with my 2012 BMW X5... I have upgraded both items, the BMW software was upgraded to TX-003.005.006, iPhone is on 8.1 (12B4111). All the software in the BMW X5 was updated today... nothing more to do from the BMW side. I even wen to the BMW dealer to see if there was anything else they could do. No such luck... service representative showed me the bulletin from them on the issue. They are waiting on Apple actions... non-apple phones work fine.

I have tried all options mentioned in the forums/threads with no positive results. I have removed the iPhone from the iCloud (logged out completely), did a Reset All Settings, deleted all bluetooth devices... Nothing shows in the iPhone nor the BMW X5... I tried to add the phone again. I get past the step of entering the pairing code, I see the phone connected, but nothing else happens, no phonebook, no ability to see the phone as available... This ***** big time!!

Frustrated... latest iOS is garbage... I am thinking about just giving up, cancelling my iPhone 6+ and going with something else...

I had similar issues with my 2011 Chevy Avalanche. Iphone 5s always worked fine. Bought a new 6 and the phone would pair and work, but then it would not automatically reconnect when I shut the vehicle off and started it again. I could pair it again, but wasn't interested in doing that every time. I perused this thread and made the following changes. I reset all of my network settings, renamed my phone and deleted all of the pairings in my truck. That did the trick! I do think that renaming the phone is a big deal. The bluetooth devices are probably confused with the same name. Either way, it works just fine now. Hope this helps someone.

I have two iPhone 6 phones. On my 2015 Audi all road one works fine the other does not. They both work fine in my 2009 Audi A4.The symptom was that the phone would pair but no contacts were transferred.

Did not get much talking with Apple support -we did all the usual deleting and pairing again.

I spent a long time on this and the following worked for the iPhone that was uncooperative before.

This assumes the phone has been paired to the car via bluetooth.

1. Set the auto lock time on the iPhone 6 from the General option (I tried 30 secs and 5 minutes or never). The time selected is NOT important whatever you are comfortable with.

2. Have the iPhone display the desktop.

3. There are two options now. a) You use the phone in the car with the desktop showing or b) The auto lock shuts off the screen (according to your selection in #1 above). In either case the phone will work perfectly in the car. The auto lock functionality is important because it establishes that the phone will still be working as you drive. (Apparently when you proceed from the desktop the phone works fine via bluetooth in the car).

4. The phone will now work fine with bluetooth in the car and the contacts will be accessible.

5. If you now try to access the screen (lost the phone) when it has been auto locked you get the screen prompt asking for the password. This is perfect because the phone is secure. I should point out that if you select the "never" option for the auto lock then a lost phone can be used without your permission!

I had this problem on my 2012 Jaguar.

After successfully pairing my phone, i was able to play blue tooth music, but the phone wouldn't connect to the car.

To remedy:

Delete the paired phone from the car and car from the phone.

Logout of iCloud

Pair phone to car.

Now it works. I don't know if turning iCloud back on will break this or not.. PAIN IN THE A&&
