loose screen on the iPhone 6?

Does the top left corner of the iPhone 6 have a slight give when you press on it? Every other corner seems to be solid except for that one corner. I will avoid pressing on it but my concern is that it may become loose in the future.

Well, I guess so then - it just seems odd that it is the top left.

It is an issue, I expect the screen to be solid all over and not flex or sound strange when I tap lightly on it, so I think I will book in to go to the Apple store. I do not live close either, but for the price paid for the phone it will be worth it.

It would be interesting to know if anyone else has the same issue with the top left of the screen.

I solved the problem permanently.
This involves unscrewing the phone, so if you do not want to try, I do not recommend to read this solution 🙂

After unscrewing the phone I picked up the screen gently, being careful to TouchID tape.
Under the screen, in the same corners pasted dots double-sided tape.
It is perfect. And (theoretically) no loss of warranty.User uploaded file

If you have an iPhone 6, you are still covered under Apple's warranty, you can check for yourself at this page: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do

The difference between going to a store and dealing with Apple support on the phone is just that, one you go to a store and deal with someone directly, where they can get your issue resolved (assuming it's covered under warranty and not due to accidental damage). The phone method is less direct in the sense that you're on the phone with someone instead of in person face to face, plus the added negative of having to ship products back and forth which means a few days, or possibly a few weeks depending on how fast they can get it shipped to you.

To sort of change the subject, mine started the clicking noise again so I went back to the store today and they ended up replacing the entire phone. The guy I got mentioned that it could be the bracket inside of the phone, not necessarily the display itself so a full replacement would be the best option. Real happy with how it played out.

So far this newest one is good, finally no weird issues.

I had posted my issue under this thread, but then i was directed to this thread, which is much larger (and scary!)

My iPhone 6 screen is making a clicking sound under light pressure towards the bottom of the screen.

I went to the wireless service provider's (Du - in UAE) outlet to get my phone changed. They agreed to change it and gave me a new phone as replacement. I decided to check this new phone in front of store representative. It had the same issue on the left side top corner. So he pulled out 3rd phone from their store. BAMMM... same issue again.. at right side bottom corner. It was unbelievable, 3 Iphone 6 models right in front of me, with same issue. This is definitely not expected of such an expensive phone, that too from APPLE!

Thankfully the store realized what was happening and refunded my full payment in cash immediately (also coz they ran out of stock for space grey phone color!). So now I have a faulty Iphone 5 (with camera issue - My IPhone 5s camera isn't turning on, the screen is black for every app I use for the camera and none of them work. I've turned my phone off and on again and that didn't work and I also tried resettingy phone. Any suggestions on how to fix it?) and have seen 3 Iphone 6 with loose screen panel...!!

I Have the exact same issue. I will be going to the Apple store the next time I am in the city. I Expect more from a $1000 phone.

Exactly. And Apple expects that you want more from a $1000 phone. That's why they'll replace it if it's defective.

I am so glad I found this thread - it has been bugging me wondering if my iPhone 6 plus is a defected unit, but it seems this is a common problem.

If I tap on the top left of the screen it makes a clicking sound like it is a little loose. When I look closely at the phone whilst doing it I am unable to see any movement - it looks rigid. It is getting to me because this area of the screen is mostly used for "Back" buttons - so it gets tapped a lot, and it feels different to the rest of the screen and makes an audible click, rather than the soft thud when you tap anywhere else.

If press down on the left hand side of the screen then repeat this and tap on it, it feels and sounds solid, like the rest of the screen. At first I thought it might be because the volume rockers are housed here, but this confirmed to me it is definitely the screen.

I am on the verge of booking in an appointment with apple to replace the unit, is anybody else in the same boat?

iPhone 6 plus 128gb btw.

I guess it may be normal since it is happening on both models....I have the space gray iphone 6 64gb. I just called Apple technical support but he seemed like he didn't know what I was talking about. He just said that if that part of the screen is not functioning properly then he would say that's an issue. Also that it is not a known issue and to trade it in if I don't feel comfortable. Anyway, I did see you post on another forum and please let me know what you come up with. I live 90 minutes away from the Apple Store so I'm trying to avoid that trip if it's not a real issue.

I think it is an issue worth seeing them about and maybe getting a replacement. The phones cost a lot of money and if something is not right I want to sort it out whilst I have the chance.

It may be that it is the same with all of them, and people are just not as fussy as I am - which is why I am interested to hear what others say.

I finally reached a Apple tech who said that there have been many reports and these devices are defective. I just returned it and the new device seems to be ok. The only issue is that this one has a spec of dust under the camera lens. It should not affect the pictures but I can never win haha.

I have the same issue here, the section on the left makes a clicking noise when you press down near the sim tray. Its gotten worse over the last day, do you think it will be an issue for me getting an iPhone replacement from the apple store since I bought it from Best Buy Mobile?

I bought it at Best Buy as well. I just explained what Apple told me and they ended up doing the exchange. I would go to Apple if Best Buy doesn't have any to exchange or if they deny the exchange for whatever reason. I doubt they would deny something like that.

Well I just had a chat with apple support and they said they would like to see it, but after I told them I don't want my brand new phone opened up and tampered with they said they would likely just exchange it.

I am going to look at bit mental when I try to demonstrate what I mean, by tapping on the screen and letting them listen for the clicking sound - as you cannot see any movement but it sounds rough.

I will pop in the the local shop on Saturday.

JB088 - does the screen sound all solid and firm all over on your new one?

My screen is also clicking at the top left corner right near the volume buttons. Only if I apply pressure will it click it doesn't affect my tapping when I'm using the phone. It's not really an issue I guess but it may get worse in the future. Will bring it to Apple tomorrow to fix it.

I had the same problem with the right side of the iPhone 6 the screen seemed loose behind the camera it also made a clicking sound when I presssed it although I could not see any movement.

I seem to have sorted the problem by holding the problem area between my index finger and thumb with both hands roughly half way across the iPhone and pressing hard as if to try and bend it don't worry it won't bend your only holding it your fingers

What seemed to happen for me when I performed this is I heard a little click .When I checked the screen the movement had gone .

I Don't know if this will work for everyone but it worked for me!

Good Luck
