How to delete undeletable songs

I have 4 songs on my iPhone 4s that I never downloaded and can't seem to delete. I have tried to delete them through iTunes but I just cannot seem to get rid of them. Please help they are crappy songs!! They are by the xx and maroon 5. I am embarrassed to have them on my phone

I have the same issue and this fixed it for me:

Go into Settings > Music > and enable "Show All Music"

The songs that you are trying to delete have the cloud symbol next to them (?)

Redownload the songs.

Once finished downloading, the swipe and delete will work again for the rogue songs.

My theory is that initially when playing songs from the cloud, it caches the song somehow, and when you switch off "Show all music", the cached song remains, but iTunes doesn't see it as an actual song and won't allow deletion.

Fingers-crossed this works for you.
