iPhone 6 screen easily scratched?
Have been taking EXTREMELY good care of my 6+, but the corners already have visible scratches. Anyone else experiencing this?

tinyman392, my final comment is you have a very appropriate user name.
Resorting to insults now? You made a lot of statements, none of which were factually backed. In America, we actually call this slander/defamation/libel (OK, it's not really slander, it's libel as you typed it)...
I only found out today the iPhone 6 did not ship with the sapphire glass. W have received two iPhone 6's and I'm still waiting for my plus. Expected ship date 11/22. I'm thinking about returning them all until the iPhone 6s comes out that is supposed to have the better glass.
GIven this this and the IOS screwup I'm getting tired of Apple. I am so disappointed.
Safire is a much harder substance to normal glass, yes. However, it's no harder than Gorilla Glass (both have a 9 on the Moh Scale), so you're not getting any gain from that. Both phones would end up getting an oleophobic coating on them, which is probably what is scratching in the majority of these cases, you'd still get scratches regardless. Safire also has a tendency to break, or shatter, due to its brittleness as a substance (Gorilla Glass is less brittle).
OOh my gosh! Would you two please stop! The entire argument is pointless and a waste of everyone else's time. We are consumers. We all have a choice. If you don't like your phone, take it back and get a different one Like I might do. Don't sit out here on a forum such as things arguing such nonsense.
tjernagel,
I don't even own the phone. I was thinking of buying one, but with all the negative reports in the press I did some research and found this thread. Since you are returning yours and so many other people are complaining, I am just going to forget about the whole thing.

It was widely reported that "fewer than 40,000 users" were affected by the iOS 8.01 problem, whatever that means. Maybe it was only 39,500 users but I doubt it was less than 30,000, or they would have said that Here are some links:

I'm not implying there is a link between HW and SW defects. I'm pointing out a general trend in complaints about the quality of Apple phones across the board.
And I can cite far more articles & reviews that show the positive side of Apple's quality.
Tell me, if Apple's quality is so poor, why do they sell more smartphones than any other manufacturer?
Feel free to buy whatever you want. But remember, news outlets operate on ad revenue. That means the more often their 'articles' are clicked on, the more ads are displayed, and the more revenue they generate. So, enticing and controversial topics and headlines are the norm, these days.
Me? I go off of personal experience or Consumer Reports. Other than my own opinion, no other 'opinions' matter, and I'll use unbiased research and reports, myself.
I mean, but he very article you cited, Apple pulled the iOS update within an hour. That's an incredibly fast response time to a reported issue, when you understand all that has to go into pulling it from all the servers. It's not like just flipping a switch. A less than an hour response time is flipping amazing for something that big and involved. To me, that speed of response shows a very close watch of quality control, not only before release but after.

You'd be very disappointed with Sapphire glass on an iPhone. Sapphire is much more prone to shattering than Gorilla Glass. If you're going to wait, you'll likely be waiting a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time.

Coming to the forum is like visiting the hospital and believing every person on the planet is sick. This thread in particular is getting longer, because the same people are commenting over and over (myself included). Apple has sold over 60,000,000 phone now and the number is rising. If this was such a major issue, you'd see way more people reporting scratches. And when you say the press, the press LOVES to kick Apple. Don't believe everything you read.
It doesn't matter to me at all if you don't get one. But you'd be cutting off your nose to spite yourself. The phone is actually terrific. I've had absolutely no issues with either iPhone 6 in my household.
I have a 6 too and this thing is scratched on the screen and I even have a crease in the fragile aluminum back. I did drop the phone between the seat and console in my truck and had to reach down there to retrieve it and low and behold scratches and this crease happened. Of course I have dropped my 5 down in that same spot numerous times and no scratch or creases happened then! I even had an aluminium car(Audi A8) that I put 200k miles on and it didn't have any dents or scratches but my iphone6 has more of them in less than 30 days of having it!! Plus this phone is glitchy too! What a disappointment!!

Then return it or sell it.
I found the problem!!!!

It's not the sapphire part of the phone that is scratching...
I may just do that and go to Android!
Actually, yes it is. When this thread was first started that's what we were talking about. I don't know what you knuckleheads changed the subject to. But the reason is clearly indicated in that article as to why the glass scratches so easily.
