Yes, please let us know how it went and I hope you are able to get a replacement. Also, take in effect what tinyman392 said. He is spot on with bringing everything you can to help your case.

See rbrylawski, now that was helpful not posts about screen protectors and cases. Everyone here wants that to be their last option. We are all aware of the many different types of cases and screen protectors, we don't need to be reminded about them. These phones don't need either and have never needed them so why should we give in to something that is clearly a manufacturing issue.
Hi. I originally posted about my issue with the scratching on my iphone 6 plus 2 days after I got it (and it has only gotten worse!) Anyway, I have read all of these posts and followed the advice to get help. I am on an old browser so couldn't start out with chat so just called the 800-694-7466 number and explained my issue. (got my phone on 9/29 and had scratches in less then 30 hours; don't put phone in pockets, only goes in the silk/poly pocket lining of purse; I also do not have long nails.) Anyway, I took pictures of my new phone with my old iphone 4 this morning and while I was on the phone to support I sent him the pictures. (NOTE: I got transfered to a supervisor because original person couldn't help me, didn't have authority I think.) Anyway, the supervisor could clearly see all the scratches and he offered to send me a replacement phone. I was very nice and I did emphaize that this is defective, have old iphone and ipad2 with no scratches. I also directed him to this conversation. It took about an hour but should have replacment phone in about 2 days. I'll try to post some of those pictures (this is not all the scratches but there is a limit to how much I can post). So, mbenivenga is correct, call or chat, explain situation, provide pictures, be nice, explain this is defective and under warranty and you should be able to get a replacement. Now I am just hoping that the replacment doesn't have the same issue. Fingers-crossed!

I actually completely disagree with you rbrylawski. I've seen some of your comments being helpful and insightful and others completely off subject. More off subject than helpful. You are not experiencing this problem unlike other people, myself included. I found a solution to getting a replacement you didn't. So when it comes to filling this thread up with useless information, you are at the top of it. Do you really think that Apple will catch wind of this problem when this thread primarily talks about screen protectors and cases? I think you know the answer to that. In all respect you have no have place in this thread. Simply because you don't have this problem. People go here to find a solution not to read about a bunch of bs.
*** To everyone that is experiencing this problem. ***
If you want a real solution to this read my other posts or any other users posts that talk about contacting Apple Support Chat.
Be nice tell them, tell them about your problem explain to them there is a community of people on Apple's own Support Community website. Explain that others have experienced this and have received a replacement. If you feel like you've hit a roadblock ask to speak to a senior rep. That's exactly what I did and I was successful at it.
I hope you are all successful.
You can disagree with me all you want. That's fine. You just don't get the right to tell anyone what they can or can't post, as long as they are not being disrespectful. If you want total control over content, build your own website, publish the rules and ban people who don't follow them, since it's your site.
But here, anyone can post what they want to post - again as long as they're not being disrespectful. And I have never shown anyone disrespect in any way.
Also, to only limit posts to people who have a problem is simply wrong. People should be able to come to a thread like this and see that while there are certainly people who are experiencing issues with scratches, not ALL people are. Providing balance is never a bad thing.
I'm sorry did I say at any point that you or anyone else couldn't post in here? I was simply saying let's get back to the real reason why this was created in the first place. Keep your comments about screen protectors and cases to those threads. Those comments don't belong here. As I said, people come here to find a solution to their problem. Adding more and more unrelated comments just adds to everyone's frustration of finding a real answer. You can do whatever you want, I obviously am not and can not stop you from doing that.
Now this is the last time I am responding to you because now I am adding to the unrelated bs on this thread and if you knew better you would stop replying as well. Leave it up to the people that have actually experienced it and know how to deal with it.

Promise??😉
Why don't both of you stop posting. How about you make a thread about the ins and outs of the freedom we have to post about anything we want in any post on apple's website? And then the other guy can debate you.
I do agree with one thing. If someone has scratches on their phone, it doesn't help to then tell them to get a case and/or screen protector. The damage is already done. And, if I buy a $400+ device I expect that if I treat it with care, then I don't need to spend any more money to protect it. Obviously I know that if I drop it on a surface that I shouldn't, or put it in water, or something else crazy like that then my argument doesn't apply. But if I only set it on soft surfaces and never put it in my pocket with anything else, then I expect it not to scratch. That's what's worked for me with two iPods, a 3g, a 4, and a 5. Why that didn't work for me with a 6 I don't know, but it's definitely frustrating.
I think another piece of advice that is just as valuable as telling someone to get a case or screen protector is telling them to get apple care. It's the best investment you can make for your phone without a doubt.
So I have had every iPhone since the 2G, and have gone in between using a screen protector and not. This time, I ordered a glass screen protector and it just came in. I went to put it on, and I have scratches all over the phone. No other iPhone I have owned has done this...
So you just asked the Genius for a new one because of the scratches?
Thanks for your help on this! I'm still a total fanboy, just a bit disappointed.
You can ask a Genius if they can replace it. There have been mixed issues with this, however. Some have replaced it no questions asked citing that it's irregular/not normal for this to happen. Others state cosmetic damage isn't covered under warranty.
What you need to do is get some Apple-representative statement saying that this can be covered under warranty (just in case you get the latter Genius that states cosmetic damage). This was normally done (for the people in this forum anyways, including me) through the Apple Support Chat (Get started). Traverse through the menus and at the end, select to either call (or be called) or to chat online. It generally is not a long wait. After you do that, explain to them that you haven't put the iPhone in a position where it should get scratched (EG, only kept it alone in your pocket when not in use, babied it, etc.) and that you have been noticing scratches on the iPhone after such a short time. You don't feel this is normal and you are disappointed with the quality of the screen.
At this point, the chat representative may either replace your phone on the spot (through mail, or send you to a store), or ask that you go have the phone looked at by a Genius. If it is the latter, then make sure you ask the chat rep if something like this is covered under warranty (the answer should be a conditional yes, EG, if the screen is damaged). At which point, you politely end the conversation by thanking them (for their time and help), saying good-bye, etc.
Copy and paste the conversation into a file. Sync that file with your iPhone somehow (a note or pages document for example). Make sure you get the case ID or support ID (token, etc.) before you close out. Make an appointment with the genius bar, go to the Apple Store. Explain to them (again) what has happened, what you've been doing with the phone (EG, nothing that should get it scratched, look above) and that you spoke with a rep in chat (give them the ID number of the ticket, etc.) and that the rep stated that it can be replaced under warranty if the screen is defective.
At that point, the rep will either replace the phone or test the screen's resistance to scratching in some way. Most likely replace the phone.
noticed the tiny scratches on my 6+ under the post office lights today... they're real. you're not crazy. the fine scratches are nearly impossible to notice, but once you see them they're hard to ignore.
I have always used screen protectors/wraps on iDevices after my iPhone 1 got scratched badly very quickly under normal use. on every single one... iPads, iPhones, etc. It's just a personal preference.
I left a screen protector off an iPad 4 that never left the house and since that still doesn't have a scratch on it, I was more hopeful for the 6+. I ordered a screen protector for my 6+ before I even bought it, but didn't apply it due to the nature of the curved glass & swipe gestures. it just felt good without one... I blame myself, but that doesn't make it suck any less:)
admittedly the scratches can be very fine, so I am going to look over my 6+ very carefully (and see if I can caoture them with photos) before I seek a replacement. if I can live with them, i am going to give up, err on the side of caution, and apply the screen protector. good luck everyone
I just spoke to a representative by chat. They would not even acknowledge this thread even though I pasted the link in the chat and also referenced the thread and the issues that are discussed here multiple times during my conversation with them. They said that the only thing I can do is go to a store so they can look at it. The only option that they could offer me was to repair or replace it for $49 since I have apple care. I told them that I thought that was unfair since I felt that the scratches were due to a defect and not my fault. They said that if I wanted to try to get other options, I need to go to a store. I'm very disappointed in this response. I don't feel that I should have to spend time going to their store in order to get this addressed when it is their defective product that I paid $600 for. I'm not sure what I will do now. I may try to chat one or two more times to see if I can get someone who will be more accommodating, or I will go to the store. This is definitely poor customer service though.
Likewise, even with the senior representative they simply stated that the Apple store was the only way other than a mail in repair, no mention of sending me a replacement phone. This is very frustrating indeed.
Following up on the thought that the scratched phones come from a bad batch, could people with scratches post the production date and/or factory where the phone was produced? I'm waiting for the iPhone 6 that I want to be in stock at the local Apple store, and hoping that Apple acknowledges and fixes this problem first.
Do we even have that information? Where would we get it?
Here is one more person with a scarred iphone6 after only one day of sitting at home. Literally I unboxed the phone, sat in my chair marveling at how beautiful it was. It sat next to my desk all day. In the afternoon I put the phone into my silk shirt pocket to drive to the AT&T store and give them my iphone4 which I was trading in. While there looking at cases I noticed what I thought were finger prints. i went to clean off the finger prints to discover scuffs on the glass. Not deep scratches you can feel, but blurring of the glass like sand paper had scuffed it. ***? My iphone4 has literally been to **** and back and there is not a single scuff or scratch on it. This thing barely saw the light of day for less than 24 hours, was not mishandled in the slightest and already showing all kinds of scuffage on the screen.
The writing is on the wall, if I keep this phone it will look horrible in a few months time, I'm returning it for refund. Period. Apple has to fix this issue. I kept thinking to myself, what could I have done that might have caused this, but no incident comes to mind over the single afternoon I had it out of its original box. then I came to this thread and read post after post of other people that experienced something similar. I find it very hard to believe that this is chalked up to a bad batch of glass, but whatever I'm returning it. Apple has to do better then this. I might pick up an iphone5 because my iphone4 was getting long in the tooth. I really wanted the iphone6, but obviously they have dropped the ball on glass quality.
In response to tinyman, the info is encoded in the serial number. From OSX Daily a couple if years ago. This may have changed. People were posting the info re iPhone 6 from those serial numbers on the MacRumirs boards a couple of weeks ago so the info is there.
The first step is to locate the Serial Number. The easiest way to find it is to open your Settings app and navigate to General -> About -> Serial Number. You should also see the Serial Number in the Summary tab in iTunes when your iPhone is connected to the computer.
Serial numbers come in the form AABCCDDDEEF which can be read as follows:
