iPhone 6 screen easily scratched?
Have been taking EXTREMELY good care of my 6+, but the corners already have visible scratches. Anyone else experiencing this?

*shrugs*
BB has exclusive deals with some of the manufacturers, such as speck and their new mightyshell cases.
that is the exact case I want for my 6, except in gray. heard of moshi before, but never looked into their products till now. just returned a couple spigen products which were extremely disappointing as they usually pay great attention to detail, but they seem to have dropped the ball in order to get in on the mass hysteria of the accessory market before launch by not properly testing and designing their cases with an actual iphone.
whats the quality like, how do you like it? does the aluminum scratch easily? how much bulk does it add? what other cases have you tried and can compare it to? would like to hear your thoughts and appreciate any input, if you're willing to comment on questions that are beside the topic 😝
This isn't the best place to talk about cases. So I'll make it short: there is no exclusivity with this case unfortunately (or any Moshi case for that matter). Build quality is top notch openings and everything are done precisely. The white plastic (for my iGlaze) has a nice pearlescent finish to it (kind of fancy) while the brushed aluminum does look beautiful. I have not tried any scratch tests on the case (don't plan to). I'm not sure if the aluminum is anodized (this would be a better question for CS, I may inquire about it now that it's come up), but if it is, the scratch resistance (like on the iPhone's) will be very high, if not, it will be soft. Having tested 20+ cases so far for the iPhone 6 (not Plus), I can easily say this is in the top 5 (probably top 3).
no need to be a stickler 😁 j/k
i assume by no exclusivity you're referring to the other BB cases I mentioned, so it means more access/availability for others to possibly have the same case. if yours is the iglaze armour and not the iglaze, im guessin that means only the backplate is aluminum and the front is plastic. i would hope it is anodized, but not sure if that process costs that much more during manufacturing so other than money don't understand any other reason for why they wouldn't. 20 cases? wow. would love to hear about the others, but if not comfortable to do so on this forum, maybe another time. thanks for the info, appreciate your thoughts as my local BB doesn't have in stock so no other way to actually see or inspect the case outside of purchasing it online
I just came back from the Strasbourg Apple store (France). In spite of the fact that I'm really careful with it, my 6 gold 64Gb had micro scratches all over the screen. These scratches appeared juste by swiping on the screen with my fingers. My girlfriend's iPhone 6 doesn't have any scratches whereas she has long polished nails.
Just had to explain nicely these facts and Genius bar offered me to change my screen for free, saying it's not a normal wear. I would have preferred a phone replacement but that's kind of them to offer screen replacing charges.
GOOD NEWS: Apple replaced my iPhone 6. (SG,64g)
I had a few good conversations with the folks at 800-MY-iPhone, it turns out that in my situation, the screen's scratch was UNDER the glass. Upon this discovery they scheduled a genius bar appointment for me. When I arrived the technician was aware of the situation, examined the phone, and replaced the device.
YES, this is a frustrating situation but don't expect that classless behavior will help resolve the issue. If the device is truly defective, help the representative understand. My situation is proof that AAPL still does pride themselves on customer service.
ADVICE:
1) Treat the Apple folks with respect.
2) Keep your own records. Call confirmation number. Name of lady or gentleman who is assisting you.
3) Ask questions.
Cheers & Good Luck!
The people who have gotten their scratched screen fixed, is the new screen also scratching or did it fix the problem?
If you look earlier, you'll find that some people exchanged multiple times (twice) and had the same issue. I will say that I've had mine replaced and in the week and a half I've had the new one, it has not accumulated a single scratch. So to answer your question, yes and no, it depends on the situation I guess.
Thanks. I guess I'll be using a screen protector..
I got my screen replaced a few days ago and put a screen protector on it before I left the store. No scratches so far.
Same here! Would be nice to know whether the new screen got scratches too!
In order to get a proper answer to this, we'd need to know what was causing the screens to scratch in the first place.
It all depends on how rough you are when you use your mobile device. Someone like me who takes extreme care of all electronics I had no issue with mine, although I do have a screen protector on it which I am now considering taking off. My colleague who had his iPhone 6 with no screen protector for almost a month has no scratch on it so far.
If you can manage to keep your phone in one pocket and keys and other items in the other one then you should be fine. Make sure you don't have any other items in your pocket where you keep your iPhone in.
Not true! I am not at all rough with my phones, I baby them, it lives in my left front pocket with nothing else. I have a year old 5S which never had a case on it but is still in mint condition, not a single blemish on the screen. The iPhone 6 I have used no differently for 2 weeks and it is covered in scratches. Just because it is not happening to you doesn't mean it isn't for anybody. You just got lucky with a good coating...
Not entirely true. It would depend on what is causing these phones to scratch. If the screen is defective, no matter how careful you ate with it, it'll scratch. That was the case for me.
Another scratched up new iPhone 6 here. Within one week of use and very gentle care, I noticed two obvious scratches right in the middle. After a few days, I realized what was causing it -- my small (dime-sized) gold hoop earring. And not the back of the earring, but just holding the phone next to the front of my earring. So, Apple: are we not able to wear earrings and talk on your phones? I had a Samsung Galaxy S3 for 2 years and wore these same earrings the entire time with no scratches. I've had my iPhone for less than a week and my very basic earrings scratch it up! I wonder how many of these comments are scratches from earrings? Did Apple test the durability of this phone among people wearing earrings?
