iPhone 6 screen easily scratched?
Have been taking EXTREMELY good care of my 6+, but the corners already have visible scratches. Anyone else experiencing this?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8
Same problem for me. 2 years with my iPhone 5, nothing. 2 days with my iPhone 6, 2 micro-scratch on the screen... There is a real problem with this screen.
Not true. As I previously mentioned the day I received my iPhone I removed the plastic protector and tested the phone out for about ten minutes. Surprised how marked up the screen got I took a lint free microfiber cloth and cleaned it. Once cleaned I immediately noticed a horizontal centimetre long scratch in the middle of the screen. Was it there from new or did cleaning cause it? I cannot be sure but would hazard a guess it was from cleaning. I tried rubbing the scratch vigorously to remove it to no avail.
Just adding my voice to this thread. Since the iPhone 4 I have gone without a screen protector. Not a scratch on either the iPhone 4 (2 years of use) and the iPhone 5 (also 2 years of use). Within 40 days of use my iPhone 6 128GB space gray now has at least a dozen faint scratches along the center of the screen, extending towards the right edge. I have not dropped the device and have always kept it in my pocket without either coins or keys. Just regular use, cleaned with a micro fiber lens cloth when needed.
I realize others have gone the route of replacing their device. I'll keep this for now, but am concerned about the durability of the screens being used on the iPhone 6 line. This many scratches this soon without dropping or mishandling the device seems quite out of the ordinary. I've had iPod Nano's that were abused through workouts that held up better than the screen on this device.
Disappointing.
PS - the Touch ID sensor also makes quite the "clicky" sound and feels "gritty" when being clicked.
Considering that I have AppleCare+ and considering that I anticipate that something will go wrong with the phone over the next several months, I'm going to wait to go in to get mine replaced.
I believe that the scratch in my phone is under the glass. You can't feel the scratch regardless of what method you use to try to do so.
I had an iPad Air replaced because there was something under the glass.
I agree on the fingerprint home button being ridiculously clicky. Steve Jobs never would have accepted that. But Cook has significantly less understanding about the elegance of user experience. Not to mention that there is no need for physical actuation, the direction Jobs was moving further and further towards. It's a reason why I won't upgrade my iPad Air; I love how quiet my home button is. I won't go with a clicky home button for some cornball feature like unlocking the device with my fingerprint.
Do not wait to get it replaced. If you don't feel it's normal (because it's not), go to the Apple Store. The longer you wait, the less chance you'll have of getting it replaced. Those dozen scratch marks will increase exponentially with time and won't get any better until the oleophobic coating is gone (could take 2+ years, or as little as 1 year).
I'll quote what the genius I saw said to me (after I got sent to an Apple Store from a Chat rep): "Scratches like this are normal over time, but definitely not this early." So if you wait, you won't get it replaced because it'll then be considered normal wear and tear. If you try to replace it now, it may not be considered normal wear and tear.
Again, I'll reiterate what others have stated, going through Apple Chat seems to be the most successful option right now.
As for the clicky home button, that's normal. If it's gritty, that may be defective (misaligned) and can be replaced. Again, a rep would have to look at the device. I personally prefer the clicky home button. It's also more durable (First few generations of devices had home buttons that would go out right around the 1 year mark).
Just because you can't feel the scratch doesn't mean it's under the screen. The scratch most definitely is on the outer layer of the screen. The under layer is a much harder surface (the upper layer has coating which is scratching). You can't feel the scratch simply because it's not deep enough. If the scratch was between the glass and a screen (or the underlayer of the glass), it would have been there from production. The iPhone's screen is fused to the glass, they are one part.
Remember, the outer layer of coating is designed to be extremely thin, so for the most part, if you do scratch it, you should not be able to feel it (as that layer isn't thick enough to feel). If you can feel it, there is a possibility that the coating was applied a little too thick or something scratched the glass (not just the coating). The glass is extremely hard though, so you'd need sapphires, sand paper, diamonds, etc. to actually do that.
I have had my 6+ in an Apple leather case for about a month now. The corners are completely covered by the case thus leaving no scratches so far anywhere. I would at least try this case for now to keep from getting any more scratches, good luck!
Same problem here. I had an iPhone 5 for two years without any screen protector and only a few small scratches at the end. Now with the new iPhone 6 it lasted only two weeks until i had the first two scratches in my display.
I got my phone very early - a friend of mine has an iPhone 6, too but got it weeks later. On his screen i could not see any scratch until know and he is his iPhone not handling as careful as i am.
So maybe it is a problem with an early charge of the iPhone 6?
That's one of the odd things I ran into actually đ I was using a variety of cases while my scratches were coming up. All of them covered the edges of the screen... Guess where my additional scratches came from? The edges of the screen (which were covered). I found that a little odd, and weird, and well out of the norm.
I have taken my case off regularly to clean my entire screen and I have no visible scratches. I do not put my phone in any pockets or jacket pockets. You may have a phone that has a defective oleophobic coating. I have read that might be the cause but Apple has not commented on that. Good luck with getting a new phone!

Having come across this thread before and dismissing it as "probably nothing to ever worry about" weeks ago, I have noticed today, that my 6 Plus has this issue as well. I first noticed my scratches after installing a slickwrap (back only). The only thing I can figure is that they occurred when I had the phone face down on a magazine (something I felt sure was not any risk to the screen). While I can't say that caused it, that's the only thing that has ever touched the screen as this plus is pretty new, a replacement for one that had the also growing earpiece volume problem. Seems to be the cause as well, because I've never noticed them until now, and am always in the same room/light conditions when at my desk. First thing I flipped it over, they jumped right at me.
There are 7 fairly long/straight hairline scratches (can't feel them with fingertip or nail, so they are not deep at all), 4 on the screen, and 3 on other flat areas of the glass. They don't interfere with use, and I can only see them outside in the sun, or indoors with the lights on, and also only when the screen is off. If the screen is on, it's not noticeable at all.
Nothing I plan to complain about to Apple or try to get it replaced over unless it becomes more serious since it is invisible when actually using the phone. I am pretty shocked though that the coating, or whatever is scratched, is so fragile that a dust free, glossy sheet of paper can scratch it that easily. I'm sure glad I never put my phone in a pocket that has keys or change in it, I can only imagine the havoc that would bring if a magazine cover could do this.
Factory: F2L
Production week: 37
Model: iPhone 6 Plus
My luck has run out. Found four scratches today :/ Each varying in length, each coming from the edge. But they aren't spider webbing like my other iPhone was. Data:
Factory: F73
Year: 2014
Week: 35 (8/25-8/31)
Age: 2 months
They are all shallow and not visible during use (unlike my first iPhone that was visible when using the phone). Probably won't replace this one as it truly is just cosmetic. We'll see though :/
