Airplay Apple TV not working/mirroring after IOS 8

After upgrading to IOS 8 on my IPad 2, updating my Apple TV, resetting my router, the mirroring does not work.

I had no problem till the new release was installed.

Does anyone have a solution?

Previously when wanting to watch a video from my iPad or iPhone through Apple TV, there was an icon for AirPlay in the video app. Now there is an icon for AirPlay only in the Control Center.

I have watched video since upgrading, but have not tried mirroring.

I don't have an issue with mirroring. However, since I updated all of my IOS devices to 8.1.1, I can no longer "see" the actual videos using Airplay with AppleTV. I can only hear the audio....I get a little grey musical "note" on the screen but no picture/video. I have no idea how to fix this. It worked just fine prior to the update. By the way, this is happening with my iPad and iPhone 6. Can anyone help me?

We had people over for dinner yesterday. The guests had five iphone 6, one iphone 6+, two iPhone 4s and one iPhone 4. All the iphone fours could stream, none of the sixes. The fours were on iOS 7.(something), the sixes were on 8.1.2 or 8.1.3. My iPad Air is on 8.1.2 and, of course, doesn't work. It worked fine on iOS 7. The Apple TV is on 7.0.3 (6917).

The problem is ios 8.

Issue with Airplay not working on iOS devices and MBP which is linked to Apple TV3

Several devices running 8.4 plus other devices running 6.1.6 & 5.1.1 & 4.1.4

8.4 devices....

issue 1) sometimes Airplay icon will show up, sometimes it don't!

issue 2) 3rd party Airplay device doesn't show up at all under Airplay icon whilst the Apple TV3 is connected to network, but as soon as ATV3 is disconnected and everything reset then sometines it shows up. However, it's possible to connect to the 3rd party airplay device via browser and IP address, and; b) the 3rd party Airplay device has an APP which has Airplay functionaltity within it - this works perfectly, allowing control of device and also music streaming.

3rd party Airplay device is hardwired to router, but has option to establish a direct peer to peer Wireless Connection, in this case the 3rd party Airplay device shows up under Airplay icon and works.

Airplay worked perfectly prior to recent iOS 8 and iTunes 12 updates.

osx 10.10.4 - occasionally aiplay icon shows up.

6.1.6 device - can't get airplay icon to show up no matter what.

5.1.1 devices - airplay icon will occasionally reveal itself.

4.1.4 device - airplay icon is always visible and works, however when first hit the play button , it will randomly disconnect itself, airplay icon disappear momentarily and reappear, then work fine.

So here's what happens....disconnect the Apple TV3 from power supply & network and....

When ATV3 is unplugged from mains power, then the 3rd party airplay device randomly shows up under airplay icon on all devices. The 3rd party airplay device remains under aiplay icon and reappears if iOS device is disconnected and reconnected to network.... unless the ATV3 is reconnected to the power supply. As soon as ATV3 is reconnected to opower supply then any other airplay devices are dropped from menu!

Reset router > reset all devices > turned everything off/on and then reset > done this I don't know how many times!! The only device that works consistently is running iOS 4.1.4. i.e.: It's ages old... that's when Apple products did work and were fun.

Nothing works when the ATV3 is in the scenario, so that's on it's way to the trash can.

Is this Apples attempt at world domination?

Come on Apple, it's about time you stepped up.
